I really think having a smurf account should be a bannable offence

Personally I do not understand why people make a smurf account to begin with, but until today I have never really cared. However today I attempted to get a friend of mine into league and he was doing really well...for about 3 games. Then it went downhill due to smurfs.

How do I know they were smurfs you ask? Easy, I judge it by there mechanical ability and timing. I thinks its pretty obvious when a level 6 player is a bit better than they should be when you see a perfectly controlled Azir with combos.

I mean not to take away from the play, as far as ability goes they were very good indeed but the fact is they had no right being in a game with new players. Needless to say my friend had a terrible game. This in itself was not the main "negative" experience because we all lose games, it was the high amount of abuse the rest of his team gave him - for getting outplayed.

They were saying some helpful tips I will agree...but to a person on their 5th game it is meaningless and just comes across as abuse - on top of the actual abuse. Sad result was 4 more games in a row of the same shizzle and my friend will not be joining me on the rift :(.

I just do not understand the abuse and general "try-hard" atmosphere in such low level games, I mean to be perfectly honest I expect better from these so called "smurfs", and as such there should be an option to report these people for having a smurf - as if they are negative it should = a quick permaban, end of.

So just throwing this out there for any Reds who may glance at this post, honestly I think you are losing a lot of players do to this and overall it just presents a bad image of the game. Just my thoughts but what about others?

This could be avoided if they made it easier for people who are level 30 to access new accounts. Have an option to start lat level 20 or something.

I will tell you why smurfs were good for me. I started playing in January. Had two roommates who had been playing a while and were fairly good. I wanted to play with them as they were teaching me and helping me improve. However, I couldn't play PvP with them on their mains because I was getting matched with players was above my skill level. Once they made smirks, we were able to play PvP and I was really able to start improving under their guidance. Just my two cents.

I am new, but I noticed that while leveling with some of my friends. They made smurfs to help me level up, but this is what they told me.

Smurfs on average will have more wins so overtime a majority of there normal games will be played versus other smurfs since the accounts with a high number of wins over 50% is most likely other smurfs. I noticed when I was a low level that it seemed like the skill variation between players was pretty wide, and a lot of players you could tell were super new. But by the time I was getting close to 30 it seemed like most of the people playing had played more games than what their accounts showed (at least that is what my friends say).

I honestly wish there was a "seasoned" versus "new player" queue for low level accounts to prevent this from happening. I've also had several friends elect not to continue playing due to the low level facerolling where they got beat hard and had no recourse.

People have every right to make multiple accounts.

And for the people "stomping lower levels." Most of the time a smurfs objective is to get to level 30 as fast as possible. To do this, it is vital to win as much as possible. So yea, of course they will try to win.

Ease up buddy, it's just a game.

i disagree. having a smurf shouldn't equal a permaban. maybe your friend should: 1. mute people. 2. not care what randoms over the internet say. 3. not take anything they say personally. many of the pros have smurf accounts. people buy skins and stuff on their smurf accounts. riot is not going to perma ban people for having more than one account and giving them more money. yeah some smurfs are dicks, but you just gotta mute em and report em after game. that's all you can do. in my opinion, it's a very idiotic concept to even fathom that riot would perma ban people for having smurf accounts. im not really sure you thought about this post because you were so mad or whatever. but it's life, league, and the internet. get used to it kid.

Sorry. Due to Riots system with queue time penalty for dodging, I absolutely have to have like 6 accounts to avoid bad lobbies. While leveling them up that means some people get to have a bad time. However, the matchmaking system assigns my accounts more fair values pretty quick. I remember on the last account I leveled I was playing with level 30's by the time my level was in the teens, which is pretty unfair as far as mastery and runes go for me. I've accepted that as part of the cost of being able to dodge as much as I want.

So, I'm going to have to strongly disagree when it comes to banning multiple accounts. It's a needed part of the game to avoid subjecting yourself to toxic behavior.
