Intentional Banning of Team Members Champ Picks

Please please please riot fix the champ select where, when you have selected a champ, your fellow teammates cannot also pick them ahead of you without permission nor ban them to piss you off. I have had this happen to me three times with the new champion Kayn.. your games last an hour... three games of playing a champ I do not want equals three hours of abuse by strangers i am forced to play with or receive a dodge penalty if abort... this is ridiculous and must be fixed. Today I took matters in to my own hands and ran down the lane of the team member who did this. We lost but I told him never do it again and that I hoped other players might do the same to him in protest. No one saw how serious of a problem this is and would rather win than acknowledge it and flamed me for my actions. But how might I ask am I supposed to affect someone I can't see otherwise, and furthermore play a team game with someone who would do such, to a complete stranger. I payed him in kind, an eye for an eye. If there was a system in all the modes, not just blind, it would be so easy to fix this. You could then give permission as usual to switch champs if requested after lock in. Hope people will respond.

No. Absolutely not. Such a system would lead to lobby trolling the likes of which you've obviously not contemplated.

If I'm unable to ban a pick that an ally hovers, then people will queue as Support, get into lobby and hover the most OP champion of the patch. They will then use that hover as leverage to get someone to trade them roles. You won't be able to pick that champion away from them either because they hovered it.

You broke the rules because someone else banned a champion?

Leave. Uninstall this game and leave or grow up. There are enough problems with this game without crybabies trolling or intentionally feeding because they didn't get their way.

No, you did not pay him in kind. He looked at you funny and you attacked him and your 3 other teammates.

See below... not sure why you are more fixated on a very easily overcome problem like feeding which is common and something I have never done until today. Though you have many worries about what this could create, as we play with strangers mostly, I think being able to have your pick protected whatever it may be troll or not is your right. I never punish people or flame them for breaking the meta. It is positive for the game to have uncommon champs play different positions. If they intentionally feed like I did then just report them like they did me but let them play their one hour of game time the way they want. If you don't read below then know that their behavior towards what they had done in champ select furthered my frustration and lack of desire to play the right way... which I normally value above what champ I get... just not today. Its happened too much today to do nothing and just sit back and take it. Strange you find me childish and not them. Say we are both being childish... I can live with that.

My problem with your idea is that it would create more problems than it solves. I pretty much one-trick Xerath in Ranked, I've had him banned from me by teammates about as often as I've accidentally banned him myself. Teammates banning your hover isn't an overall problem, it's a champion specific problem. Kayn's new, people ban new champions, it happens. However, people forcing you out of your role by not letting you ban what would counter you or what's OP (allowing the enemy team to pick it since your teammates can't) would be an overall problem.

If you're trying to play a champion and don't want that champion banned, we've already got a way for you to do that: Blind Pick. What's more, you're more than 2x as likely to get that champion since you've only got to compete with 4 other players for that pick instead of 9 other players.

I fully agree with off meta picks being good for the game. I played a ton of AP Ezreal Mid a few seasons back and loved it.

You didn't describe him doing anything childish in your initial post. There are people frequently ban new champions regardless of hovers. Just like there are those eager to try new champions there are those who are sick and tired of new champions ruining their games, be they ally or enemy. There's nothing wrong with them feeling that way and wanting to ban a champion because of that.

With what you described in your OP, you were the only one acting childishly.

Thanks, this is what I was hoping to receive comment wise. Its great you took the time to reply again. On my part I'll work to be more specific on my comments and cool headed when people do stuff that frustrates me.

But seriously, admitting to intentional feeding on the player behavior boards. You got balls my friend.

This will probably never be changed. The whole reason you need a minimum roster is incase your champion gets picked/banned out from under you, you have other options available.

Report and move on, and for the love of god don't intentionally feed because of it, that will just get you banned in the long run.

Thanks i appreciate your comment.. the first one is all anyone ever says... uninstall.. this is dumb because i love love love this game. In a year I have played thousands of games and this is the first time I have intentionally fed. That's probably because this same thing has happened over and over recently and I am desperate for retribution even if that means doing something that I normally find unethical. So I wasn't afraid to own up for it. Funny to me how no one thinks about the wrong of the first guy as if intentional feeding were murder (again I don't think its right so I understand that much but did it out of frustration), also no one knows how rude he was in comments when doing it and had a feeling of untouchability therefore feeding is the only way to return the favor because it insights the same frustration I feel. Again, normally I just go on with it and pick another champ but game after game this keeps happening and its a culture forming that has to be stopped. Probably the last game I will ever feed on... I hate it I really do... but I think the pros of riot coming up with a solution to the first problem is more important than the apparent mistake I made which no one seems to be able to look passed. Anyway, thanks for talking about it reasonably unlike "dismissive" others

No offense but it's been less than 2 weeks since he came out. In addition he is sitting at about a 40-42 percent win rate toplane and 44 percent in the jungle. Please just stick to playing him in normals until he is balanced and you have enough experience with him.

I have yet to be in a ranked game where Kayn won (on my team or the opposing team). I know that's just random statitistics. But I ban him every game now (if it's ranked), regardless of whether or not someone has him picked.
