Is It Just Me Or Is Overwatch More Toxic Than League?

I came to League expecting death threats, messages to KYS, racism, and sexism, but the community is actually pretty chill. Sure there's the occasional jerk, but the game on average is way more pleasent compared to a certain hero based shooter i used to play. I think since League is so uninhibited in ways to vent your frustration compared to Overwatch people have learned to get over shit (Mad bro? Run a cheese pick in top lane, dedicate a match of blind to irritating the enemy jungler by stealing his buffs, come up with stupidly frustrating rune combos that counter what's meta atm).

Overwatch competitive doesn't have role select, you just have to hope that you get people who can play a proper team. It's extremely common to see a team of all Mercy mains (Imagine a team of people who could only play Soraka). Overwatch players are constantly screaming at you for not being good enough. Unlike League where bad decisions are apparent simply because you died, there's no way to prove to a flamer in Overwatch that you aren't just a terrible shot. Overwatch is like a pit of all the political, racial, and gender related tension in America right now because the entire game is a huge safe space governed by Blizzard. We had to wait a year for a reporting system because Blizzard didn't think it was neccessary. At one point the principle designer came out and basically talked down to players like bad children for the toxicity in the community. To top it off, any offensive phrase, regardless of context, is a bannable offense by Blizzard. I was banned on the forums for discussing how League players rarely say for you to kill your self in blind pick, and that the quick play in Overwatch was much more frustrating. Honestly, i think since League has been toxic since the beginning, people have just learned to deal with it.

TL:DR Overwatch is irritating because Blizzard designed the game to irritate and League players have learned to just brush the shit off and go on with their lives. League flamers flame responsibly? Is such a thing possible? [sg-ahri-1]

The way I see it, the league community is hella more toxic than overwatch community, but both reached a high bar. The difference is that riot, IMO, has a better system with dealing toxicity than Blizzard. The game is still fairly new and blizzard has taken some steps to making their ecosystem a lot more friendlier place just as well as Riot. Only time will tell.
