I like how these chat logs don't show the other person's chat, and this ban bot doesn't view the game that was taking place during the flame. I guess calling someone BAD is reason for me to lose rewards.
The reform card only shows your chat logs because that is what you are being punished for. The purpose is to show you what you did wrong, not to show you what other players did wrong. Also, it's not that Riot doesn't believe in context, it's that Riot believes there is no context where flaming another player is acceptable. No matter what the other player is doing, lowering yourself to their level and flaming them does nothing to make the situation better, it only makes a bad situation worse.
Yes, if you flame others then you'll lose honor. This was explained in the announcement and in the FAQ.

I had a game where a top ornn was flaming me and asking all chat to report me. I took a deep breath, muted him and reported after game. Then I moved on to another game and forgot about it.
I could have attacked him back in kind, but all that would lead to is more drama and my account being at risk.
Riot banning system in a nutshell
Riot doesn't believe in context, so although they may have been flaming/trolling you, in the end only what you said/did matters. The automated system does not look at anything other than your chat when you are reported.
Unfortunately, muting doesn't do anything if people are trolling, but thats just how the system works. Its best to just not say anything at all.

I don't understand why you guys flame trolls to begin with. You know, the trolls actually want to get a reaction out of you? That's the whole reason they behave that way in the first place. You're not "putting them in their place," you're just rewarding them.
