Can we talk about Leaverbuster
I've scaled over the last 7 days from a 5 minute wait timer for 5 games due to unfortunate dc's up to 20 minute waits for 5 games. I understand the reason for Riot cracking down on leavers is to make the game a better experience but can it be toned down a little bit? I'm not leaving intentionally, and it's killing my desire to play the game. I just want to enjoy a game and nothing is more frustrating than having to deal with the computer freezing.
Can we all agree Leaverbuster is extremely abusive? I understand it's a tool to push people to reform, but when people don't see the results of their reform, it doesn't promote reform. It provokes more toxicity.
Riot could be way more upfront about how long it takes to reform or what specifically people are doing that gets them in trouble. The Reform Cards and Leaverbuster aren't promoting reform. They're only serving to tell people "You're Toxic" and in the case of Permanent Bans, "You're Toxic, Bye!"
That's not reform. That's not making the community better. Most of those people are just going to make new accounts (or buy new accounts) and repeat their behavior. Y'all have a chance to improve the community by crafting more descript reform cards and/or toning back Leaverbuster and making it clearer as to when Leaverbuster drops a level. (Like seriously I could play 300 games of no dc/leave, dc/leave one game and instant 20 minute wait timer.)
UPDATE: As no one has acknowledged this nor have I stated it, I've received Leaverbuster penalties after having my computer (> 2 months old) freeze on me in the loading screen. This has led to remakes in both normal games and ranked games. I'm not a frequent leaver, it's only happened a handful of times - more so in normal games than ranked. I feel that it's super punishing to have to lose X amount of LP (17 LP currently, I think) and have to wait for an excessive length of time. There's got to be a better way for Riot to handle this that actually produces reform rather than crapping on the community of us that don't have the money to spend on a perfect computer.
