Just like gold+ season rewards. Honor needs to be a bigger part of league of legends. Some people fall off and think they will never receive a reward others will just scrape by after achieving an award. Exclusive yearly rewards specifically made for honorable players would be a great addition for the game.
There are special wards and the flairs. In the past, in Honor version 1.X, there were honor ribbons. Now we have honor flairs. Additionally we also receive honor wards. I do believe both border flairs as well as special ward skins is as good as it gets for an auxiliary game progression. While I would like more skins, Riot has already made many improvements to the end of season rewards. Such as giving Silver ranked players rewards and making several chromas of the victorious skin base don what queues you are in.
I would think just binding the honor system with season rewards will be good enough.
