Supports abandoning bot lane...wtf???

The last 4 out of 5 games I've had a support abandon bot lane after a single turret was down or even before. We were at least moderately winning lane each time, then it all goes to hell. Can't cs 1v2 and often I get overrun underneath my own turret. I know some people don't want to support, but this is unacceptable. They're throwing games to go chase kills or whatever they think they're doing. I can't play 1v2 if the other guys are even half good, and these are ranked games. Other than not play adc, what the hell am I supposed to do? Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

supports are suppose to roam to help affect other lanes, they aren't solely there to hold the ADC's hand. happens in higher level games too.

It's called Roaming, not sure if you heard of it..

I'm a supp main who usually roams once a game to gank mid. If I am roaming a lot it's because the adc is low skill / low knowledge and his playstyle is irritating me. Make sure you know how to harass after your supp makes a good play. Don't push the lane too hard in norms cause it gets boring for the supp and low ELO games aren't about making him lose CS under the turret.

If your supp pokes a lot like Zyra or brand don't go all in every time the supp pokes, this will get me roaming like no other. You're supposed to be able to 2v1 and cs under the tower it's easy, let the tower shoot the minion 2x, then cs the minion.

I'm occasionally forced to abandon my ADC entirely as support if they're utterly incompetent. I can't really justify it during laning, but by mid-game, I'll just follow mid or jungle. Not necessarily saying you're incompetent, but if your supports think so, that may be why.

Otherwise, yeah, roaming. If the laning phase is done, I'll often want my ADC to solo-CS to get more experience, assuming the enemy bot laners aren't harassing him. If my ADC just wants to farm, he should ward and defend himself. Sitting around as his bodyguard, collecting 1 gold per minion thanks to Bandit, isn't a good use of my time.

There's a difference between abandoning and roaming. Supports (generally) try to help anyone they can. Quite frankly, they aren't ADC slaves. That being said, leaving your adc for dead is a no-no. You can roam smart and dumb. Smart is going for a gank and coming back. Dumb is just leaving.

After a single turret is down in bot lane, laning phase is over for a support, if your tower is down, they can go roaming mid while you farm safely under tower while they have to overextend to get to you, if theirs is down you can stay and farm because of having a safe tower space but with them not having a tower to kill minions you have more lane pressure and can come up mid with a support while they roam around, generally they shouldn't abandon bot completely but honestly after a tower goes down either side they have free range to move around the map more and give the whole team more presence

Here's the thing, if your turret is down leave the lane to go pressure another lane and then come back when the wave is pushed into your turret. If they insist on staying down in bot lane that leaves you and the rest of your team to 3v5 (at most) in another lane and push it faster/get some kills. A good support will go to where they can get the team ahead the best once their T1 is down, not sit in bot lane and babysit the adc who doesn't want to use a team advantage.
