To the community writ large

Why do you guys insist on beating people while they are down? Noone in this game has a single iota of empathy for any situation whatsoever. 3 AFKS? "Get good, fucking scrub shits, we won cause you guys suck ass". An intentional feeder or two? "Im 10-0 because he sucks, not cause he is running at us on purpose, if you were good you could carry this game. Get fucked". Seriously people? Its a rare thing to find someone with a fucking conscious in this cesspool of human filth riot calls a gaming community. Not sure who touched half of you or what sort of problems you have in your day to day life but games are supposed to be fun. When I first got into online gaming people were actually decent (if memory serves). People can say what they will about the WC3 DotA communities but they were way better than this swamp. Heres an idea, have a bit of empathy. I wish that groups of players would be stuck together for best of 3s or best of 5s so there would be some incentive to have a shred of empathy or sympathy when players on the enemy team are being little shits; chances are they will be on your team next.

the thing about the old games was that the playerbases were so small that you literally needed each other.

you were nice to each other because you needed a full team vs. a full team.

It's much easier to beat down others who aren't doing well rather than helping them out. It's easier to bring them down to a level where they will feel crappy because then they will perform worse, which will give the player a more valid reason to attack them. League's community is well-known for its toxicity towards others in the community as well as even people who aren't part of the community.

It's essentially psychological warfare, except in this game of war, the person is shooting their ally in the head instead of the enemy.

I'm an old player (joined 2011) and I have noticed that over the years (and on a new account because I forgot the password to my old account), the community has devolved from being a welcoming community that would help out new players to one of pure elitism. I used to be an extremely passionate player in League, but I left in 2015 to take a break from the toxic community.

I came back this year, and it has gotten worse since I left: I have to deal with toxic people nearly every game now on this account, and I've had to mute all of my sounds to ensure that I wouldn't hear another player on my team screeching into their mic that I'm a retard or that I should kill myself.
