Chat restrictions and end of season rewards
All end of season rewards in the past were not given to you if you fell under one of the categories below:
- Players with bans or chat restrictions active when the season ends.
- Players issued a ban of seven days or more after (some date in August)
- Players banned for boosting during the 2017 season.
However, in the current season, the categories have changed to:
- You must be Honor level 2 or above to be eligible for RANKED end-of-season rewards. (We have made Honor progression a little easier to get up to Honor 2 to help you rank up!)
- MMR/Elo boosting or cheating will disqualify your account from RANKED & HONOR rewards.
- If you have an erroneous or fraud-related ban, you'll still be eligible for rewards.
One big difference in the newer set of ineligibilities is if you do receive a chat ban towards the end of the season, you can kiss your rewards goodbye, which was not the case for the past 7 seasons. As has been repeated by hundreds of people, the honor system takes a very long time just to get back to honor 2, whether you are starting at 0 or 1. I feel this is unjust because the punishment of a chat restriction is being compared to that of a person with a ban. I feel riot should reword their end of season rewards ineligibility so that players who play out their chat restricted games will still get their rewards. Whether that means lowering the honor requirement to 1 because all chat restrictions go to 1, while bans go to 0, or just by removing the honor requirement and replace it with the old system.
I am not expecting much support on this thread, but if you do agree with what was said here, feel free to upvote so maybe riot can see this post.
