To Dodge or Not To Dodge...
So, I tend to play a lot of bot matches as a way to make sure that my settings are all fine, and to double-check that I'm not having any problems on my network before I jump into ranked. Anyone who plays bot matches can tell you that the friendly bots have become a problem in recent months. It's rare to have a match where you don't have at least one ally bot. And unlike Twisted Treeline, where the bots are actually programmed to attack turrets, these bots don't even do that. They jungle. All of them. They either run smite/exhaust, or smite/heal, and proceed to be executed a million times while never doing anything even remotely useful. On the one hand, they don't feed. But on the other, they don't help and will continue dying to wolves while your nexus is falling. Which is what happened today. I had the joy of drawing 4 bots.
It was really tempting to just dodge queue, and not deal with a match that I was pretty sure I couldn't win. I tried my best to just push out as fast as I could, not even trying to last hit or harass, but yeah, it was a lost cause. The only reason I even bothered with it was so I could report all the accounts at the end. It may not seem like a huge deal, but a lot of these botted accounts are being leveled up so they can be sold to unsuspecting players. Who will end up having their accounts banned months down the road for a malicious/illegal third party program, that they may not have any idea was used to level the account. For anyone who comes across these accounts, I would ask that you please report them now, to try and save other people the trouble later. It's a small kindness, but if they aren't the ones using the programs, it's a bit unfair for them to be punished for it simply because they were unlucky enough to buy that particular account. (We'll leave the topic of ethics of buying accounts for another time.)
