Absolutely sick of this terrible community

I think Riot really needs to consider revamping the entire report / ban feature. With that they need to deal out harsher punishments and crack down on repeat offenders. I know I am beating a dead horse here, but to please it seems painfully obvious that they simply do not care. In the last 24 hours I have been called a %%%%%%, a %%%, a queer, been told to suck someone's you know what, told to kill myself and the list goes on and on. These absolutely horrendous community laughs when you say you are going to report them and I do not see Riot doing a thing about it. If someone gets banned, they just create or buy another account. I think stiffer consequences need to be handed out and I think they should consider banning IP addresses. This community is walking a dangerously fine line and it can easily turn into lawsuit material.

Just read through the PB&M board posts for a while. This kind of behavior is punishable, and the more severe offenses easily result in bans. As long as you report accurately you'll help diminish this sort of behavior by reforming or removing them from the community.

If someone is acting like this in your game, I highly recommend muting them immediately; you don't have to listen to it any more than you want to. As for banning IP addresses, they don't do that because it's ineffective. Players can easily circumvent an IP ban, and they can and will ban many other players not associated with the offender it's supposed to stop.

Also, don't tell people you're going to report them. Trolls want to know their behavior is bothering you, so when you do that it's just adding fuel to the fire. Mute and report them and just focus on the match at hand.

You are right with IP banning- it seems pointless since most people don't have static IPs. Since a vast majority of IPs are dynamic, they will simply change when you reboot your router or modem. Also, if you have a VPN, you can change your IP whenever you want. I have heard that Blizzard bans MAC addresses, by having software in their applications on your PC. Whenever I see this behavior I try to report it and give an accurate description, but it will also be helpful if Riot gave feedback when you report.

That comment was wrong , no way to defend it! It is Sexual harassment,,,, It is Just plain Harassment !

BESIDES: since when is telling someone to "fuck off" Allowed? Either way It Is harassment, need I say more?

I feel like (at least) one out of four games someone in it is incredibly toxic and it feeds like crazy. For example. The Abi is support that took every cs and kill from me when I was adc then continued to rage at everyone in the game... I agree that the ban system needs to be changed. People need to definitely be punished more harshly for things like intentionally feeding , language, and being toxic..

Modern days slang? Between who a bunch of ignorant morons? If someone says I want you to suck my blank, suck my blank or I am going to put my blank in your mouth that is sexual harassment- people have sued for a lot less. It is also illegal in almost every state if you talk to a minor like this- and news flash: a lot of people under the age of 18 play Lol. Furthermore, if someone calls you gay, the N word or something else along those lines, that is hate speech. Telling someone to go kill themselves is the worst of the worst and completely unacceptable. This type of talk needs to come with an instant ban I am sick and tired of people downplaying this kind of behavior. You ask any avid gamer who has played LoL and they will tell you hands down that it has the most toxic community in all of online gaming. That is a pretty serious epidemic. I feel like Riot has ultimately failed to keep this behavior in check and it is their responsibility to moderate this type of behavior and they clearly haven't been doing that. If you act this way in any MMO you will be banned no questions asked so why do I keep seeing repeat offenders and why do I keep seeing people freely acting like this? Its because Riot rarely bans people. I literally just got a chat ban and I laughed because what I said was nothing compared to the people who I was talking to. Riot claims that only 5% of people get chat bans and based on how toxic this community is I find that really hard to believe. If it is 5% then they clearly are not doing their jobs.

Most online gaming companies want to weed out this behavior because this is classic lawsuit material and these days you can file a lawsuit for anything. I don't think anyone wants to be in a community where people act like this. I'd say in over 70% of my matches someone demonstrates this behavior and when this behavior is so rampant its a tell-tell sign that there aren't harsh consequences. Also, this isn't just a low elo problem because I have friends in high elo and the toxicity is still there.

I've played lol and other games. It's not the most toxic. Try any other game, the difference is people that play lol are just oversensitive pabs. And I'm aware I'm high elo too, moooose2, frostlights are mains. Free af.

Regardless, if you seriously are that butthurt over somebody saying to suck their dick, you actually must be around 12 years old. Seriously who cares. It's just random words that mean fuck off, why do you care. Even if he is implying that you should actually suck on his dick, who cares call him gay and move on.

You are part of the problem then and not part of the solution. DOTA 2, CounterStrike, Left 4 Dead 2, WoW, Guild Wars 2, Old Republic, Star Wars Galaxies EMU, Smite, Overwatch, Heroes of the Storm, all have a better online community ( I can find more examples if you'd like too). In fact, I was blown away by how friendly people are in DOTA 2.

If you are OK with this behavior then that is unacceptable. The only reason we have these kinds of behaviors is because people like you and Riot don't give a damn.

You're right, I don't give a damn. Personally I have very thick skin and don't give a flying fuck what people say to me on the internet lol. If somebody pisses me off I mute them. If they call me some random slur, I don't care. Don't get what's so hard about just not caring what random people say when there's a mute function.

So people are allowed to do whatever they want with out consequences? I think we both know that is ridiculous. And oh I have thick stick pal, I was in the Marines for 8 years, but we aren't the only people that play this game now are we? More than half of the community is 20 years old and younger. You think its OK with people throwing racial slurs, saying sexual comments and telling people to kill themselves? Is that alright for this kind of behavior to be geared at teenagers and people younger? If you are fine with this behavior then you honestly don't belong in this community.

I'm 18 years old and I don't care. Personally I just think if you're playing an online game where people are very often dissociated from accounts if you understand what I'm saying, like flaming is easier if you don't see it's an actual person. A lot of the times it's like you're screaming at the champ not the actual player. You should understand that with that disconnect comes flame because people don't understand it's an actual person they're yelling at.
