Should you lose points for your teamates going AFK?

Ok, so i just played 3 games in a row where people went AFK, now why do i lose points based on a disadvantage? There is absoulutely no control for me to do anything and im forced to take a loss? First off i was already mad from what they did this provisonals, where i was plat 5 last season and got silver, but i am gold 3 now. I made it to 90 LP in gold 3 and lost 3 games due to AFK and 1 game just because we didnt do good. I am now down alot of LP because of my teamates leaving that game and i get punished? That is just absurd. I had a week long conversation with Riot and they seemed to not care, as 4 different members had the same copy and paste message. What is this non sense, if riot listens to what the players say and honestly, fix their rank system. Because of now, they havent fixed it for seasons to be honest.

there needs to be a system where you lose less rating as long as you are not in party with them, it can be abused, but the simple solution is to suspend/ban the abusers

I agree in principal, but if this was implemented, losing teams would just AFK to reduce LP losses instead of still trying for the win. I would like to see that if someone AFKs their LP loss scales up. I'm sure the 'system' knows how much time you AFK for. For example, every 5 minutes of AFK could increase your LP loss (if you lose) by 10% capping at 100% and reduces your LP gain, if your team wins, by the same amount. If the lost LP has to be redistributed to keep the system working, I'd suggest it be given out to the rest of the team.

That would be nice if they simply didn't count your loss when there were AFK's. That would make my ranked experience much better. I had a guy once leave because my cousin told him to just farm. He then said "say one more thing and I'll afk." Our support then said, "leave you noob." And there goes an afk and a loss of LP. I'm really tired of this shit.

I honestly don't know how Riot could design a system that determines that you played a good game but still reward you when someone else AFKs or fails to even meet minimum scoring requirements. I don't think it is even possible.

afker/leaver should get "minus" league points of his teammates and its done. if some crying rage kid would leave.... "the gates are open" bang -60 league points in example or more. riot should teach "these" players , not punish the innocent.

It is 100% possible, as if they implemented a replay system and or your team mates report the AFK user, which Riot can look over and resolve it. However, it wont happen immediately, because it is really hard for a Riot member to detect it that quickly, overall they need to tweek the system just a little bit.

ffs the same story as last year. Just won 3 games in a row and just after that lost 2 games because some1 went afk or had connection problems from start of game. WHY you are loosing LP points when some1 in your team is clearly afk more than 5min?
