Would you Report a person for....

Tearin True·12/3/2015, 5:54:45 PM·1 votes·1,091 views

Right at the start of a game a player on my team said " KABR/all Allahu A"

For reference (took this from CNN website) "A witness tells Radio France that attackers inside the Bataclan concert hall entered firing rifles and shouting "Allah akbar"

So I immediately stopped playing. I did not feed, I did not leave the game. I just refused to play and then reported the person afterward?

I refused to play with anyone who would make light of terrorist attacks or as using LOL as a way of subtly supporting terrorists. Heck maybe this person is trying to find recruits. Who knows. I only know it was in extremely bad taste

What are your thoughts? What would you have done?

Dude, come on you just punished 4 other plays because a guy tried to get a cheap laugh. Don't be a fucking baby. Play the game and report him after if you got upset about him saying that. It's also not a terrorist thing. It means "God is great" terrorist use it but also a billion other Muslims in a way that isn't related to terrorism in any way.

Not playing a game where someone said "God is great" which is what that means? You should be reported for afk'ing on your team. Get educated and understand that radicals are not the majority of Islam.

The biggest issue is that you chose to punish 3 other people. I read below that you were the support and this person was the adc. If it made you some uncomfortable, then I would suggesting reaching a certain level, 3 usually is good, and then roaming to another lane. Or requesting to lane with the top laner. (Usually the enemy will swap their support up top as well to deal with this)

Muting people and then reporting him with verbal harrassment/hate speech or whatever would have been fine. He made you uncomfortable. Perhaps he was making light of the paris attacks. It would have been a valid reason to report him, but not to punish others who did no wrong.

Its like when you were in school. And one kid wouldn't shut up so no one got recess time. This guy is the one kid, and you're the 'teacher' that punished a whole class for one students action.

What does that actually mean? And yes I would report you for afk'ing.

Hmm. I can certainly understand you not wanting to play with that person any longer. They didn't type that out for any kind of faith or belief. They did it to be an immature troll.

Would I report you for being AFK the entire game? I certainly do have the right to turn you in since you're not allowed to do that. So, don't be surprised if you are punished.

Unfortunately, blocking someone doesn't stop you from playing with them again. Still, you cannot AFK purposely like that.

Possibly muted them if they kept it up, played the game, and reported you for AFK.

People are stupid and insensitive, but that is no reason to punish the other 3 people in the game.

So, because a guy used an Arabic phrase (which means "God is greatest," by the way), you refused to play with him? Did you know its meaning before you made that decision? Or was it based exclusively on how a comparative handful of extremists have used it?

I refused to play with anyone who would make light of terrorist attacks or as using LOL as a way of subtly supporting terrorists. Heck maybe this person is trying to find recruits. Who knows. I only know it was in extremely bad taste

Yes, I'm sure that's the only reason someone would use the term.

What are your thoughts? What would you have done?

I would have played the game. Because that's what I queued for. If the guy seemed like a jerk, I would have reported him. If he didn't, I wouldn't - because I refuse to report someone for using religious phrases. Otherwise, I'd have to report every single person who said "Jesus Christ."
