This is not an ok punishment system

I got chat restricted last night. Now, before you write this off as a "oh I don't deserve my punishment" post, that's not why I'm here. I'm here because when I asked Player Support to explain exactly what I did wrong, Blitzcrank Bot responded with a message containing the snippet of text from the image linked. That's very concerning to me, because I was punished not because I did anything wrong, but because my team wanted me to be punished. Now obviously without my chat logs my argument means nothing, so here it is:

So, first off, yeah, I was intentionally annoying at points, but I did nothing that really seems like it should be considered toxic. While you can't see the other players chat logs, I wasn't just bringing up the Neeko's toxicity and baiting me for funsies, I was responding to other players asking me about it. So what, I'm being punished for communicating honestly with my team? That's absurd. If someone's toxic, they deserve punishment. If the majority of the community thinks I was the bad guy here then I'll accept my punishment, but I'll never accept that people can be punished simply because their teammates don't like them. Within the same match my logs are from, there were two people on my team non-stop flaming me and an enemy Nocturne who mocked disabled people, yet the one who's punished is me for communicating honestly with my team.

It's worth noting I did not play well that game. I fed, and I'll own it. I suspect that is the real reason they reported me, not because I was toxic, but because they lost and wanted to get revenge on the guy who didn't do well.

I really think this issue needs to be brought front and center for Riot to deal with. It is completely unjust to allow innocent people to be punished simply because their team does not like them. By Riot's logic, I could have said literally nothing but if the majority of the team reported me I would be in the wrong. That is an unjust and illogical system that needs to be ended. Again, this isn't a "oh I've been unjustly punished undo my punishment" post, it's me trying to call out an unjust system that puts players at the whims of their angry teammates. I can't be alone in thinking that Riot needs to redo this system if the only merits to get punished are "some guys who just lost want you punished because they're mad."

You continually flamed people, blamed them, threatened reports/p;unishments on them... yeah, that’s not just annoying, that’s toxic.It does not matter that you were responding to others - two wrongs do not make a right, and a rule violation is a rule violation, period.

If someone else was toxic, they do deserve punishment - and they will be evaluated if you report them. More reports do not increase risk of punishment - punishment is based on behavior, not on number of reports, period. You could’ve been reported by all 9 players in that game, but had you not flamed others or been toxic you would not have been punished. Likewise, you could risk punishment by being toxic if you get only one report in a game.

You should note that being “honest” does not mean something is not toxic. While stating someone’s score in chat or stating that they’re feeding is possibly “honesty”, it is not constructive at all - it is blaming and flaming.

This whole stretch here is pretty visibly against the rules. Harassing, flaming, name-calling, detrimental arguing - and this is just a portion of your logs, which had further misbehavior thrown in.

What point does flooding the chat with arguments and accusations that your teammate is trolling you serve? It doesn't help win the game, and it certainly doesn't stop them from doing it. It's pointless, and that's a helluva lot of time you wasted on pointless, detrimental arguing instead of playing the game.

This punishment was merited. You argued and flamed and insulted other players; it doesn't matter if you think it was justified, it doesn't matter if you were pointing out to your team that someone was doing something, you're not supposed to flame.

Good news is, you don't have to, 'cause that's not a thing that happens, ever. If people report you simply for not liking you, and you didn't break the rules, those reports are thrown out the window.

Again; you harassed, flamed, and name-called your teammates, and engaged in pointless, detrimental arguments. That's not "communicating honestly" with your team. That's a flamewar.

Second, other people's behavior is irrelevant in regards to your punishment. You get punished for your behavior alone - it doesn't matter if everyone else in the match was misbehaving - if you misbehaved too, and got reported, you'll get punished.

That is completely and utterly wrong. If the majority of your team reported you, and you didn't break any rules, didn't say anything at all - their reports would be thrown out. It only takes one report to trigger a review, and additional reports don't increase the likelihood of a punishment.

You may want to get a better understanding of the system before calling it unjust, because you're making claims that simply aren't true. The IFS doesn't punish just because everyone on a team reported one guy, and it certainly doesn't care if players didn't like someone.

PSA - You don't get punished for false reports. You type too much, you flame and belittle your team, and you don't accept the consequences.

Please keep doing what you're doing so you'll eventually be permabanned.

If you are calling someone else toxic, you are indirectly antagonizing them.
