Although toxic players can just make new accounts

AgeOfTheMage··5 votes·613 views

Chances are they've spent at least some money on their account before it got banned, the only problem is, after they make those new accounts they'll either:

  1. spend no money on the new acc and be toxic again
  2. learn from their mistakes. So though it's a bit slow, the punishment system is working.

thats the problem with permabans: The more you have spent on your account, the more you get punished when you get permabanned. The more time and money you spend on your account, the more you will lose when you cant access your account. I had to level up a new account to play ranked with my friends because my rank is too high to duo with them and i played with permabanned players with new accounts a lot, even if they dont flame they can afk or troll/feed and some of those are impossible for riot to detect.

AFK's are actually pretty easy for Riot to detect, they just don't result in outright bans anymore.

Feeding/non-verbal trolling may be more difficult and take longer to prove, since Riot needs to make sure it's trolling rather than low skill, but those skip the chat ban tiers.

In otherwords: someone who's primary trolling is limited to chat has to reach four punishments for a permaban, but someone who is inting or throwing matches is gone on their second.

intentionaly feeding is impossible to detect on low level games, the guy would just give up halfway through the game because "we lost" and we didnt want to surrender so he just starts running it down mid,and theres no way riot can tell whos trolling and whos just a bad player.

No, it's still not impossible. But because it takes longer, it probably looks like Riot can't tell the difference. I'd also imagine genuine new players haven't yet learned what kind of play isn't acceptable and don't realize they should be reporting it. And, of course, if there were illegal bots in the game, then those wouldn't report anything either.

So, there's a bunch of factors in why it looks like it's "impossible" for Riot to tell in low level games, when it's far more likely that there are relatively fewer reports flagging the problem.

With the instant feedback system getting inting players banned is really tough. While Riot probably shouldn't swing the ban hammer on them for just 1 game of inting there should be some kind of punishment (especially if it's ranked). Today they int because someone banned their champion and then flamed then, tomorrow they int when a teammate steals a kill and next week they int for the "fun" of it. Even in higher levels of play, unless a Rioter inspects the issue personally it's extremely unlikely for people to get punished for intentional feeding and personally I'd rather have a flamer that knows how to play in my game over someone who is intentionally feeding

the other problem is what happens when it isnt a toxic player who got super tilted. i havent played in months because i got 6 notifications in 30-50 games that a guys i reported got banned the last time i played. that is jsut to much that screams there is a problem with the system and the players. the systems like riot has amplify it to make it more obvious and we all know what spot lighting does.

i really wish people would realize its not the players but the system the players are working with that is toxic and the effects its having. if players didnt buy so heavily into a flawed system then things wouldnt get worse liek they have been on so many platforms and games. goto youtube and look up "toxic overwatch" even if you dont quit this game even if it was a false ban even if it was a legit ban the baggage from lol players primary is effecting pretty much the entire triple A and indie games in a hugely negative way. players keep leaving those games and the league snow flakes follow close behind when they realize something isnt kool anymore and they never learn why it stopped being "kool/fun". its almost exclusively due to player behavior and league of legends has breed this cancer instead of stamping it out.

Sounds like a stupid ass trendy kids problem, then. I play league because it's fun... I haven't played overwatch, never played Minecraft, Pokemon go, call of duty, all those popular games. I think what you are describing, is this new Facebook internet culture. It's millennials that grew up on Facebook and YouTubers and twitch streamers or whatever. How is league the problem? It's just dumbass, egotistical kids. It is players, not the system. I disagree with you entirely.

There are two kinds of permabans, account permabans and player permabans.

Account permabans are a harsh punishment and player bans are the most harsh punishment.

A player who has been permabanned will get new accounts banned over and over again and is never welcome in the community again.

A player who has had an account permabanned can choose to try and reform and come back into the community again.

there are 2 ways riot can tell who you are:ip and account. you can reset your ip(unless its statik) by restarting your router or using a vpn and you can create another account on riot's main page

There are many ways that people's IP's can be similar and identifying. Some ISP's only have a certain range of IP's. Another example is that some IP's are regional in a certain range within that ISP's owned range. So although your exact IP isn't the same, it's in the same range as a certain region.

It's one of the ways they can detect suspicious behavior on an account and can do protective shield bans until the true owner of an account can get a hold of the account.
