Is it more honourable to just not type at all?

Yup. By removing comms from your game you're guaranteed to not get reported for toxic behavior. Even if you do IFS will see literally nothing and give you a pass. This means no impediment on your honor progression.

At this point in time comms are not worth using because

  1. the ping system is adequate enough for communication, it is also faster then using text chat
  2. anything remotely negative you say is a punishable offense
  3. it's literally a toxic pit 99% of the time, a ban isn't worth that 1% of good game comms

More honorable than what? More honorable than being toxic/negative etc? Sure. More honorable than being supportive/positive etc? Not at all.

I personally don't talk much: In 85% of my matches, I say nothing. In the last 15% I seem to say one line, two at max. The things I say are of positive type. I don't get honors that often, since my gameplay is pretty average for my MMR. Yesterday I got the message that I had now reached the last checkpoint before reaching Honor 4. Hopefully that says something about "not talking at all"? Anyways, I believe I will reach Honor 5 before the end of the season. There is no reason why I would not do that. And I did reach that in the previous seasons, and I had "Honor" in the old system too. (Yes, I like to brag about that old system honor. I am evil. Sue me. :)
