i have a question , might be stupid maybe i am stupid idk...

Why the punishment of verbal abuse is the same as hacking? isn't that too extreme ? (no i am not banned.) the first punishment for verbal abuse is 10 games chat restriction , 2nd time 20 matches 3rd, 14 days ban and then perm ban .. Why after 20 games doesn't go 50 then 100 then 150 etc... ? i mean , punishing someone , who insulted and someone who hacked , with the same way doesn't seem logical ! Also they could get a removed chat , for some games . they can communicate fine with pings , thats their purpose

i don't know , i might be stupid or something , but i don't find this logical !

**Alright, lets get something clear. **

The result of flaming the entire game & someone cheating in a game-** is exactly the same.** Both is not welcome to League, Both wants to ruin the game & Both promotes the action.

The major difference is that you have SEVERAL Penalties before you have to pack your bags and leave by being toxic. If you're caught cheating, you're gone faster than tyler ran mid.

Anyways, your question.

Toxicity can be said to be known as one of LoL biggest issues, currently. It is the MOST obvious action not to do. If this isn't obvious enough for the certain player, then im sorry to say that certain players are going to have to learn it the hard way.

By reading your thread I get the feeling you're implying that Riot should extend the lenght of the progressive chat restriction, rather than giving the certain players a set amount of warnings (as you mentioned, 10 & 20 games) before they hit you with the ban hammer.

**Tell me; ** if you knew you could flame/ be racist/ ect. and the worst that could happen, is that you'll be chat restricted for a set amount of games. In no shape of form will you risk your accounts its safety (There is no risks at all). Where is the real punishment? A majority does not care about being chat restricted, they care about their account.

To precise: chat restrictions are warnings- not punishment. they're** WARNINGS**.

I'm sorry, but there's no way im able to take this post serious. [zombie-brand-facepalm]

I guess the first answer here is that they're not the same punishment. If you hack (I'm assuming this means running scripts or using DDoS), you get banned. If you flame, you get 3 more chances before you get banned. There's a similar final resolution if you push the system to its limits, but those punishments are different. An analogy that comes to mind is working at a job. If you're working retail and get caught stealing, you can expect to be fired immediately. But if you're rude to a customer and they complain, you're not necessary going to be kicked out until the second, third, fourth complaint come in.

Riot's pattern of restrictions here is grounded in a different philosophy from what I think a lot of games have. If a person is flaming or trolling and they don't reform after ample opportunities, they aren't welcome here anymore.

They tried those types of punishments before, they didn't work. All that a removed chat did was make them toxic during gameplay (excessive pinging, inting, assisting enemies, etc.) The current system is made to be taken seriously.

When someone is hacked the account is banned only until the owner contacts player support and they confirm it's the owner and that the account is secure again. That's a protective ban on the account to prevent the hacker from doing further damage, and is completely different.

SirΤeemο (EUNE) - about 2 hours ago i 100% understand my friend , but still . this is a video game , people are paying money . once you spent money on a video game you shoudn't be banned so easily . specially when a "WTF" on chat can get you 1 warning .

No you don't understand, so it is a video game- you should still adhere to the rules.

You spent $ makes No difference, I have spent 70% of my $ spent as gifts, I don't expect the regular player to do this, I do expect a person spends Money on themselves and therefor gets upset because they did so !! Should Not expect special treatment !

FINALLY, It was Not 1 comment of "What the Fuck" got anyone punished ! Let's be clear here K? It takes more then that ...

I agree, For one thing I believe Toxic behavior amounts to more annoyed and upset players, thus should be punished quickly, beside the fact that it may be the easiest thing to find.

As punished people level up a new account : they may feel upset and do things against the rules. most IMO (that have been punished for Toxicity ) understand what is going to get reported Most often so they can go and do other things against the rules and try to get away with it, while still annoying and worst making some new players believe they can do the same....This type of thing should be "Shut off" immediately !

I believe Riot is starting to crack down more and sooner, as they should. This is why a person who Reads the boards and only see others complaining about how bad the system is, can come to a different conclusion.

OP I am not accusing you of any of these things, I merely think That it is important for those who approve of the system to speak up as well as those who don't ! On a personal note: I always try to look at Riot for mistake they make, when I find this I point it out. Lurkers, be known haha :)

so ok, going over the driving limits and killing someone should be punished the same? both are not welcomed to the world.

OP: >SirΤeemο, the punishment is not the same ! Both may be 'not welcomed' but both have a punishment factor.

I'm glad you brought it up actually, even if it doesn't fit all the way it is close enough to infer some things;

  • Both are punishable

  • If you continue to speed you will get a progress of ticket that will eventually land you in Jail if you don't stop doing it

  • Yes, just like here on LOL, If you happen to go over the limit you are given a punishment, if you should go out and drive and "Hurt" someone your could spend the rest of your life in Jail--Or in this case, lose you account..

Do You understand what I am saying? I'd really like for you to see the difference, can you ? If not, I'm wasting Your time.

the first punishment for verbal abuse is 10 games chat restriction , 2nd time 20 matches 3rd, 14 days ban and then perm ban ..

I'm pretty sure it's different. (unless it got changed recently)

I used to have 1 chat restrict, then a 2 week ban. Then long time nothing, a small chat restrict (10 games) and a big one soon after (70 games).

Then I had nothing for ~1.5-2years
