really toxic player constantly telling me to kill myself

does reporting people on forums actually work ? I have seen plenty of toxic comments before but telling someone to kill themselves repeatedly over a game is something I think people need to be penalized for or atleast given some sort of warning yes there are thousands of them and not all of these types of people are gonna get caught but if some sort of action could be taken to minimize this type of behavior it would be really great. I am not saying nobody deserves to get upset because we all rage eventually but nobody should ever take it as far as threatening people and telling them to commit suicide regardless if its a troll or "the internet"
