My friend gave me info to a few accounts (don't ask me where he got them, I will ask him myself) and a few hours afterwards I got IP banned, and now I can't play and neither can any of my family.
I need help. I was told in another topic (deleted for wrong section) that it was because I "broke the rules"... But I don't understand. Why would I get IP banned for something that I was not aware of without so much of a warning?

There's no way to get it sorted because you did it, its not like you aren't guilty. Riot doesn't warn you not to hack, so why would they warn you not to account share? Its all in the terms of agreement, which you apparently didn't read.

I read that article, and it says it is extremely unlike the US would ever charge someone with a federal offense for sharing Netflix passwords, etc. lol

It is based on case where someone was charged and went to jail... Was huge story all over not to long ago
He didn't share accounts... though What this kid did was used accounts his little buddy stole from some other little kids.. using some trojan he downloaded.

You might be able to get the IP ban lifted (if that is what is happening; they may have simply banned all the accounts at that location individually) if you work it out with support, but at the very least those extra accounts will probably stay banned. Perhaps your main one as well.
It kinda sounds like your friend is up to no good. I wish you luck getting access to your main account again, but be more careful in the future.
