The Rules: Made crystal clear

I'm going to preface this post by saying that the summoners code can be a little vague to some summoners. The intent of this post is to explain the rules in a bit more detail for summoner 13.

#Harassment

Summoners are not to harass their teammates or the enemy team for any reason.

This includes:

  • Mocking a player for mistakes they made (this includes spamming the MIA ping "?" on top of a recently deceased player)
  • Shaming a player by pointing out their score
  • Asking for reports against a player
  • Mocking a player for their item build
  • Verbally abusing a player
  • "Gg Ez" (I mean in context of the winning team toward the losing team in an unsportsmanlike way, not the losing team saying it as a joke)
  • *Any form of hate speech, slurs or encouraging self harm

Punishment: 10 game chat restriction on first offense, 25 game chat restriction on second. 14 day ban on 3rd. Permanent ban if you continue breaking the rules.

Note: Hate speech, slurs and encouraging self harm are zero tolerance offenses and will net you an escalated punishment.

#Assisting enemy team

Summoners are not to give up or assist the enemy team in any way, for any reason.

This includes:

  • Intentionally feeding
  • Providing information to the enemy team on a teammate's whereabouts
  • "Open mid"

Punishment: In the case of intentional feeding, you will receive an escalated ban. Lesser offenses will progress through the tiers respectively.

#Account sharing

Sharing of accounts is strictly prohibited, if you are caught, you will be punished. It is important to note that you are responsible for any actions taken on your account.

#Cussing

Cussing is permissible, as long as it is not directed at a specific person/group. (See: Harassment)

Acceptable examples:

  • Fuck, I missed smite
  • Shit, I didn't know Skarner was there

Not acceptable:

  • Fuck you Teemo

#Botting/Scripting

There is a zero tolerance policy on the use of 3rd party programs that tamper with Riot's files or provide an unfair advantage to the player.

You will be dealt an instant permaban if you are caught. (In the next ban wave)

I think that about covers everything. Is there something I missed or could explain better? Let me know! Any constructive criticism is welcome.

I understand it's vague but in my opinion the statement "Don't be a dick" sums it up.

Who hasn't said Fuck you Teemo...

On a more realistic side, actually typing out someones summoners name, thats beyond.

So how about the people that troll and just dont play up to the level they should be in (which is 9 out of 10). What are their penalties for wasting 4 other's time ?

Is "Fuck you Teemo" acceptable after dying to only Teemo Shrooms?

On a more serious note, another thing worthy of note: toxicity from another doesn't give you the right to be toxic back. Both of you can be punished if you flame each other, regardless of who started it.

Some of these rules are oppressive and dumb.

Example. Pointing out someone's score. Often times the lowest scoring player desires to lead the team yet has made numerous bad decisions/calls. Before it was nice to point that out, then follow up with the scenarios that led to that. You'd be surprised how many people are still oblivious to such details and would follow said players like lemmings to thier deaths in the lower tier of say bronze and or silver.

So if trying to organize and rally a team with every resource I can is chat ban worthy I will just say that is dumb. Thank you emotionally weak players.

I feel like the instant permaban on 3rd party software is kinda scary just because they aren't descriptive enough. I remember when curse gave timers for your camps (back then we didn't get timers when we pressed tab) and then riot threatened to ban anyone who continued to use curse. I feel like one day I'm going to accidentally download something that is more than just a simple voice chat overlay and then get banned for it and if I tried to explain the situation they would just tell me too bad 0 tolerance. That's just a fear of mine though, probably won't happen.

Also account sharing is kind of weird too just because how am I supposed to know if my sister was to use my account when I'm at school and would that get me banned? My sister doesn't play video games, so it won't happen, but it's another fear of mine. Strict rules just don't make sense to me because all rules should have some form of leniency. I've heard stories of stuff like that happening and riot is just kind of ruthless and they're like too bad so sad.

I'd have to disagree on "open mid" being part of assisting the enemy team because sometimes you literally should open your mid instead of going in and dying over and over again. It's called rotations. Go ward the surrounding area safely with a teammate while you wait for the rest of your team to arrive. Putting intentional feeding up there without a disclaimer of having a bad game isn't inting is kinda weird too.

Lastly, I don't agree that "GG EZ" is a form of harassment. If the person goes out of their way to spam GG EZ that's harassment, but if you say GG EZ at the end screen, I always find that to be comedic. Harassment is typically continued attacks so I don't see how saying one thing the entire game such as gg ez would warrant a report. You're essentially saying that it was an easy game. I'd understand a report for unsportsmanlike in some situations, but never harassment. Do they even have unsportsmanlike as a report anymore? I wouldn't know. I haven't reported anyone in a while.
