So a while ago I made a thread complaining about a two week suspension i am facing which will be over tomorrow. I will post a link to that thread below as well as a link to a clip of a game that just happened to me. I know its against the rules or something to "name call and shame". But the purpose of this clip is not to call out the warwick, i already got an in-client message about him being punished. The point I am here trying to make is that when someone tries really hard to provoke someone, and that person caves. The provoker should be held accountable, not the person who reacted. I beilive the points i will illuistrate here line up heavily with my views on school systems and "bullying" in which rather than teaching kids to stand up for themselves, we try and teach kids not to bully. But then when a kid starts bullying and some victim gets sick of it and punches the bully in the nose, he is suddenly the one in trouble. And its so, so wrong.

The tribunal hands out severe punishments for "toxic" behavior. But the definition of toxic is very flawed. My account was supsended because i raged at people who were feeding on purpose, trolling, ect...

Yeah, i raged. Yeah i said some mean things. Do i feel like i did something wrong? Absolutely not. I think there is a big difference between saying these two reasons for flaming.

(your mid laner is having a rough game and is 0/3) "OMFG AHRI YOU TRASH UNINSTALL AND KILLYOURSELF YOUR BAD BLAH BLAH BLAH."

and

(your jungler is feeding on purpose over nothing for no reason at all despite also being in a game with his friend) "WARWICK STOP RUNING THE GAME FOR OTHERS YOU FUCKING LOW LIFE TRASH LITTLE SHIT BAG UNINSTALL"

The first example i believe to be wrong. People mess up. Not everyone is amazing or takes it that seriously and I understand that. Esepecially in unranked play. Just because someone has a bad game, no reason to freak out.

But i get in trouble because i flame in scenarios like example two. But instead of just looking at the situation like "ww is feeding so i flamed him", lets take all of the situation into account.

Warwick went to enemy red alone, failed to solo it so he comes to my lane and feeds while raging and blaming us.
because he is feeding (repeatedly) I have little chance at getting any sort of lead both because darius will get a free lead from the feeder, but will also use that lead to opress me (deny cs, exp, force out of lane, get turret for team faster, ect...) -our mid laner was premade and when i asked liss why he/she continued to play with him when he does things like this i was given the response "well i guess im just used to it by now" -with all of this going on I should not be held accountable for losing interest in the match. No one enjoys getting absolutely rolled in normal circumstances let alone a "i could have maybe won lane and did well and stuff but now even if this darius is a worse player then me he can still do what ever he wants" type of deal.
I am not allowed to leave the game because leaver buster will punish me with (correct me if im wrong) out consideration for the situation as long as it detects i left and for a substantial time period. -Even if i decide this match is not worth my time and id like to just move onto the next, im forced to wait for this to conclude as i cant drop out/in to sessions like you can in a shooter game or something of the sort.

So with all of this considered, yes i got upset. Yes i made my frustration clear to the warwick. Should I be labled "toxic" because of this? Because im human?

If you had a child and were trying to get work done but your five year old kept poking you and climbing on you and otherwise being a nuisince would you not get frustrated or upset? Would you blame that parent for getting mad and putting they're child in a time out or spanking them if thats how they are? You shouldn't. It is normal behavior.

What i think is abnormal behavior is what warwick did. Never in my life did i see someone in ANY of the sports ive played competitve or non, behave like this. Ive never seen a teammate ruin the game for his/her team because one little thing did not work out the way they wanted too. But if they did, do you think they would be allowed to continue? Do you think coach would put them back in next game? Would they're parents aprove of this? No no and probably not.

And i know people will come and say "you could just wait and move on and report him". But that doesn't help clear the frustration. What do i care if that guy gets punished. He knows he will get in trouble. He isn't worried about his random account. He is essentially free of repercussions. Again this thread is not specifically about the warwick, more geared to how I (and ive heard other players tell similar stories) got in trouble for responding to things like this.

But if I am being punished because my behavior towards him supposedly is causing the quality of his league experience to go down, I am being punished for his protection.

This means i am in trouble because we are worried that i might upset the guy whose ruining games? Bad logic.

Gotta be worried about if people who are ruining other people's games games are going well too bro. Can't punish those guys though, that'd make logical sense.

Riot is not protecting that player. You are being punished because you acted in a way that was deemed inappropriate by the other players in that game. It doesn't matter what those players did, and that is why their actions and chat logs are not included in your reform card when you are punished.

I'll also remind you that you will usually not get punished for a single game. Riot has stated publicly multiple times that they understand players have bad days, and won't punish a one-time outburst of rage, as long as it is not incredibly and unforgivably hateful or inappropriate. Since you said you are just finishing a two-week suspension, I am made to believe that you are this toxic towards other players on a rather consistent basis, and if you do not reform immediately, your next punishment will be a permanent ban. The punishment tiers are as follows;

First Offense: 10 Game Chat Restriction
Second Offense: 25 Game Chat Restriction
Third Offense: Two Week Suspension
Fourth Offense: Permanent Suspension

Because players behave like this towards me on a regular basis. As stated in the OP, i wont flame or rage because someone is having a rough match, or played something off meta, or something like that. Its when the score is 0/4 and they just start crying and complaining and saying ff at 20. Its when they feed like in that video, a meer matter of moments into the match. Sorry for being human.

You don't need to apologize for being human. It happens, mistakes are made, this is part of life. Instead, take from this some experience so you don't make the same mistakes in the future.

I've played a lot of solo queue lately and the one thing that really ruins the experience for me is people bickering in chat. I've even been tempted to mute all at the beginning of the game because I really just don't care for other people's banter. But even if you're not the one who starts it, the other 3 people in your game don't care about that. They only care that the bickering is contributing to a negative atmosphere and they don't like it. Same here. I always report those that argue or bicker or call names or whatever in chat because it brings morale down and makes me have a bad time.

If you're at 2 weeks now, you're close to being permabanned. I know you're not a rager or a flamer and it's just that you're kinda caught up in what other people say, but please take this warning. If you don't stop responding to this kind of behavior and proliferating the negativity, then you will be banned for good. Mute all if you have to, but don't stoop to their level anymore.

If players are behaving like this towards you on a regular basis, you need to mute them as soon as they start that shit and ignore them. Just focus on your own play. If that means using "/mute all" at the start of every match, so be it. If the match really is lost and there's absolutely nothing you can do about it, play it out to the end anyways. Treat it as practice, focus on not dying while you can, csing as much as you can while under pressure, use your teammates as bait to make some plays, whatever. And when the match is over, if they really deserve it, report them, and then forget about them. Take a break to cool your head and come back when you're thinking more rationally. That's what you should have been doing during your 2-week suspension.

You do not EVER have to sink to their level.

This pretty much sums it up. In other words Cold FIngers... Don't be a jerk. Mute someone who is a jerk to you. If you think other players would never want to play with someone like that, you report them at the end game lobby. Pretty simple right?

That would be true, if it was a two-person game, and the only other person whose game experience you could affect was the guy affecting yours.

Unfortunately, League is a 10-person game, and just like his behavior is affecting 9 other players (including you), your behavior is also affecting 9 other players (including him). Which reveals a fundamental flaw in your logic: you're assuming that nobody else at all in the game is being affected by your actions. But they are. And they are the people Riot is protecting - optimally, from both of you.

Mute to stop anything further for yourself. Report so the next guy doesn't have to do it at all.

They could have, even probably should have muted you. But that has no impact on whether or not they should report you.

Muting does not stop him from feeding. And people like this never care if they get reported. The "ban" does no good when hes just going to make another account and do the same stuff.

It's certainly true that they could mute you, but the mute button doesn't "unsay" things. Their experience has still been negatively affected by your actions. The method of that affect may be different from a feeder or troll, but the fact remains that your words made their game experience worse.

That's not okay, regardless of what somebody else did.

No, but if you play calm and collected eventually the guy ruining games will be banned, and you wont be. It takes time, but eventually people that feed end up perma-banned. So after a while you will be seeing less and less of them. The proof is in this section of the boards, seeing how many people try to justify their feeding. They do get the hammer thrown at them.

On a bit more of a comedic note:

You are just lucky I no longer partake in the tribunal like I use to. I would have banned you for listening to Gotye.

Which is why Riot needs to take it further, that after three Perma-bans the IP address becomes permanently blocked. However if you read this section of the boards you will notice there are a lot of trolls that don't want to lose their skins.

Just mute yourself and dont worry about it. There is no need for you to go down with jerks like that.
