Remove Chat Bans or Enforce Gameplay Bans

I can hypothetically go 0/10 and run it down mid and only type " : D " in chat and not get banned. If someone were to flame me for trolling they'd get banned. Clearly toxic behavior goes BEYOND what is said in chat. A clear solution is to either enforce rules on actual trolls or remove the gameplay, not chat but gameplay bans on accounts for toxic messages. Some kid kills himself over league flame and now Rito is liberal and gives out a 14 day ban right off the bat for chat messages, pathetic.

If you got a 14 day ban right off the bat it was for hate speech or telling someone to kill themselves. Let's make it clear, that's not acceptable in any situation, no matter how mad you are.

When trolls/intentional feeders are caught they get a 14 day ban minimum. The trick is detecting it. Language parsing is a solved problem, but trolling/intentional feeding varies by player skill and changes over time. Intentional feeders use to buy mobi boots and tears and just run down mid, but since that's easy to detect and gets them banned they've moved on to more subtle method.

it is known that there is a backlog for manual reviews, as long as 2 weeks

unfortunately there is no way for an automated system to tell the difference between someone "int'ing" and someone having a bad game, so reports for these players need to be looked at manually

on the other hand chatlogs are EASILY reviewed by an automated system and players who break the ToS in that regard can be punished immediately

don't be salty you got banned, just reform and fall in love with the mute button

medical studies have proven that words can hurt and have greater longer lasting impact in certain situations. contrary to popular belief bones and skin typically heal faster than the mind

so take your sticks and stones** and** your words and learn to work together to build something more constructive instead of trying to tear down the foundations of society.

I agree with you. There also exists a mute button that riot conveniently ignores.

100% TRUTH, couldn't say it better myself. Like I said in another thread people these days are over-sensitive. They feel a little threatened and they instantly run under their mom's skirt, in this case riot, instead of dealing on their own with their problems. Well, guess what. In real life there is no mute or ban option. "Flamers" and meany people will be all around you in your life and then you'll be searching the mute button, used to living in your Snowflake Wonderland.
