If you live in Montana and you use HughesNet... dont bother playing this game.

If you are using public Wi-Fi remember that many places like this include a short connection interruption burst periodically to keep the riff raff (gamers) away. Congrats you are the new version of skateboarders from the 80's.

I'm a PC technician, and I understand that this cannot be my fault as my connection is stable, my computer is up to date, and League of Legends is the only game I am having issues with. I shouldn't have my client crashing between champion select and the loading screen on a game to game basis.

I'd blame adobe air, but i think they got rid of that? I don't actually know how it works now. You are not the only one though, something in the client installation does eventually bug itself up but it does not happen for everyone. I've heard this being called "spaghetti" coding by angry gamers lol.

There will be no Adobe Air in the new client which is currently in Alpha testing right now.

Since you're a PC technician, you should understand that there are a shit ton of potential explanations. I'm seriously questioning your ability as a PC technician with a phrase like "I understand that this cannot be my fault since I have good ping". Lmfao. Either you're not a PC technician, or you're a pretty bad one.

Just a few examples of troubles friends have had with League. Trying to join a game would basically shut down their computer. Freeze up everything. League was the only thing that did this. Obviously League, right? He took it to the IT department at our college campus and dude fixed it. Another example. When playing League, a friend's ping would skyrocket, he would lag, and the client would close itself. Didn't happen with anything else. Obviously League, right? He took it to campus IT and something on his hard drive was attacking his computer whenever he opened up League.

Bottom line is that you literally have no clue whatsoever what is causing your problems. You then continued to play games whilst knowingly having problems. You were punished for it. It's actually pretty simple.

Doing so shows me that you're toxic both in-game and out.

1.) It's not my connection to the game. As everything else is working on my computer fine.

2.) It's not my computer, as it runs similar games with ease.

If it cannot be my computer or my connection, then it might be the client itself. So, I ran the client repair tool when I started having issues after deducing that it cannot be any of the above.

After doing so, I am still having issues, so I made this thread out of anger and frustration. Now, I'm being told by some pretentious kid attending his local community college that he knows better than someone who has spent almost a decade working as a PC Tech.

Also, this isn't really about the punishment in itself. I understand Riot has this in place to preserve quality gameplay for their players. It's not a big deal, as I will wait five minutes before queuing.

Stay in school. Study harder.

Wanna make your computer faster? Look for the file folder labeled System32, it runs in the background all the time. Delete it will free up 1GB of Ram, and 600MHz of Processor speed, guaranteed!

I also work with computers and more specifically, networking. I can tell you that the client for League has been stable for me since they got their shit together and built their own backbone network to reduce these kinds of problems. What you're experiencing is likely an issue with your network connection specifically.

Ping tests can be helpful in determining a connection issue, but they are far from the be-all-end-all of tests. They only check your connection to the selected server, which is going to be different than your connection to Riot's servers. Additionally, they don't check for issues such as packet loss. Packet loss can significantly affect your experience and (up until the backbone was implemented) was the leading cause of networking issues with League of Legends.

None of this is to say it's your or Riot's fault directly. Rather, it's to give you an idea of the possible problems you might run into. Many times I have run this test to check for packet loss issues and sometimes I have found an issue on the provider's (ISP) end. After calling them and getting everything squared away, my connection stabilized.

Some tips:

Don't play on WiFi if you can avoid it. Some wireless networks are susceptible to interference from other devices on the same band and can cause issues like packet loss.
Ensure you aren't reaching your bandwidth cap. As much as ISPs like to say they don't cap your connection, 99% of the time they do. If your allotted download speed is reaching its max, try closing out of some other programs or systems running on your network that eats this up (big offenders are sites like Netflix and other streaming services).
Test your connection in a custom game before heading to the Rift with other players.

Actually, I have to agree with the OP. Riot's client has been increasingly unstable with each patch. Prior to new Taric, I didn't crash once. However, once new Taric dropped and the new RGM was implemented, I've noticed much more bug splats and the client downright shutting down, both in champ select and at the game load screen. Riot really needs to devote some time to stabilizing the client since they keep pushing all these fancy new add ons and makeovers to it.

There was a period (maybe 3 months?) where I was having a massive amount of problems with League. Almost every time I tried to load in, it would not load. It would just sit on the black page and I'd have to try to reload. It'd almost never reload the second time, either, so I'd be stuck spending 5 minutes trying to get it to work. I got leaverbustered a lot during that. I tried to get help from support, they didn't help or send info onto support. Eventually it just stopped happening.

While I'll admit riots servers aren't the greatest, especially with the move for me in Hawaii we got hit the hardest. But they are pretty stable. I don't think I've had a crash in years. If anything I'll just get lag spikes and if it's consistent I'll stop playing for that day if I can't fix it. It seems like your problem lies with you still playing with an unstable connection. Remember it might not even be Riot's fault. Could lie in your or their ISP!
