This might be the worst community out of any video game on the planet.

Out of my 7 total years of playing this game, I've been told to kill myself on NUMEROUS occasions, in different styles, told that "i'm just a degenerate n*gger who deserves to be shot", get called mildly autistic, and let list goes on. Like, I don't even understand how someone can just say something like that to another human being without feeling any form of guilt afterwards. It's like the internet has ruined any form of hand on hand communication. People don't know how to properly treat another human being anymore. If it's not being bashed by a fellow teammate, it's another teammate bashing someone else. It's in comparison of 9 kids who don't like taking turns on the jungle-gym swing.

This game is just not very fun anymore, I, myself, am I very talkative person. I love giving speeches in front of groups and audiences, so, I enjoy the chat system League has to offer. But, I've came to realize that i'm literally FORCED to type /mute all every single game because people are just so derogative for absolutely no reason. Well, let's not say "absolutely no reason". They have their "reasons", some being that they don't agree with your pick, so they start bashing you, and spam "report Draven for picking Draven top lane" in all chat. They further on flame you in team chat, but are nice in all chat. Yes, of course, you're in the automatic wrong because of your pick, having fun is no longer allowed in this game anymore. Your Lux mid lane can call you a straight up n*gger and she's in the right, just because of your pick. Yes, I'm aware that she PROBABLY wont get away with it if you report her for it, but who cares after the fact? You've been sitting in a game for 20 minutes of it, witnessing and getting literally bullied, and you just want to leave, but you can't. Instead, you just mute the player, and are miserable for the rest of the match.

Muting doesn't really address the issue with toxic players, in my opinion. You are still in the presence of said player, which still brings an awful affect on you. It's literally the same scenario if you were in face to face with a guy who constantly picks on you in highschool, except this time, he's not talking to you. He instead just stares at you and continues talking shit about you to his friends. You get the same feeling from this as you would if you muted them. It fucks with peoples state of mind, ya know? No one likes being picked on, so why would you purposely do something you don't enjoy yourself?

Maybe if you tried to chilling out with some cool folk, rather than focusing your energy on the crowd that pisses you off, you wouldn't call it the worst community.

Surround yourself with good people, feed the right wolf.

The community is fine, the real problem is The Draconian System.

I played Ragnarok Online, Everquest, Lineage 2, Age of Empires, Counter Strike, Unreal Tournament, Heroes of Newerth and a vast myriad of other online games. League of Legends has the most draconian system of all of them.

The community is a lot friendlier too, the difference is, in (most of) those games you weren't stuck with players for up to 40 minutes. If someone was annoying you in an MMO or an FPS you could just leave or mute them without having your game affected. Here you are boned. That is the core difference in why you perceive the community to be "bad" when in reality it is one of the softest communities on the internet.

You need to play other games.

Its not the worst but its close, not so much because of what the community perceives as "toxicity", but because of how ridiculously oversensitive they are towards it.

Sorry to hear you've had some bad experiences. Might I suggest getting some like-minded friends together and only playing with them in a full pre-made group instead of going in solo or just sticking to co-op vs. ai or custom bot matches instead of pvp?
