I oppose reports and bans for language

Who is this trying to protect? Kids? That's their parents job--they have access to the entire internet too. Riot isn't protecting them from bad or abusive language--no one twisted their arm into playing, and they can mute any player. No one puts a gun to their head and forces them to stay in the chat lobby after a match.

Reports should be for obvious feeding, trolling or bad attitude in the game, such as giving up easily. What people say...who cares. Deal with with or mute it. Does Riot think they are going to fix a person's behavoir? How arrogant of them. Anyone who gets very upset over this game probably has multiple accounts. You aren't going to make them less toxic--something born of their personality and years of life experiences...but RIOT is going to correct them?

Haha what a fucking joke Riot is, and the idiots who make these stupid policies don't even realize how useless and stupid they are.

It's not trying to protect anyone -- it's trying to create a respectful, fun, sportsmanlike environment. Much like your local coffee shop doesn't want its customers abusing each other, Riot has realized that the bulk of players don't want to be harassed and abused when playing League.

Frankly, I don't give two shits what you decide to call me. It doesn't bother me, nor does it offend me. What I don't want, however, is to spend my relaxation time and my gaming time in a game with people who find it necessary to insult me. Not because I need "protection," but just because I'd rather play with friendly people than with jerks.

Riot isn't trying to fix your behavior -- they're offering you a warning that you need to fix it yourself and, if you can't (or don't want to bother) then you're not welcome in the community and will end up banned.

Riot made the policy, you agreed to the policy every time you log into your account. You don't like it thats fine, you're entitled to your opinion

To continue your statement nobody put a gun to your head and forced you to flame/be toxic/use hate speech, yet people still use it

You're right we can mute people, so what? Does that make it acceptable to use hate speech/etc Riot doesn't need to fix people only to get people to work within their system It doesn't need to keep bad elements if its causing issues

It's not that they are stupid....its just the selective enforcement of them that sucks >> .

If you rebel against being a positive repectful civilized player then you don't deserve to be her and should be perma banned.

It's not too much to ask for sportsmanship. Or just good communication. You're playing a game for 10+ minutes with a group of people. It's not too much to ask to just not be a jerk. You don't have to be positive. You can just not say anything.

Why shouldn't it be punished?

This is a poor way of thinking. We shouldn't have to deal with abuse just because we have a mute button. That's like saying robbing a house shouldn't be illegal just because I can choose to buy a gun to defend myself.

No one needs "protection" and there are not as many "snowflakes" as you people seem to think.

We simply do not want to play with assholes who don't have the decency to not flame or troll other people. I do not get offended by flame or troll (that's why I don't see the need to flame back), but I don't want to play with flaming or trolling asses so I report you and Rito get rid of you. Plain and simple.

Rito is not out to teach or fix anyone behaviors. Their policy is if you want to be an asshole, we don't want you.

You can oppose and ridicule it all you want. Rebel all you want against the rules.

Still gonna get banned for it.
