I firmly believe in the whole "elo hell" and it is bronze/silver, Gold you can get out of, but silver and bronze is just insane....
On my other account i got placed in gold, and easily breeeeeezed up the ladder to plat, but on this account i got placed into silver 2 thanks to multiple matches where i had an AFK, and have had no luck getting out since, i just go up and down, up and down up and down over and over and over.
Seems to me your rank is decided on your luck of your very first ranked placement matches, if you skip silver and bronze, you are golden haha literally, but if you get placed in either, you are in for a rough time unless you get a nice premade group going thanks to dynamic queue abuse.
