Champion Mains and their Cultures
I'm just curious about the people who main certain champions, as these mains often form a community, a culture if you will, and before anyone says it, I'm not talking about typical stereotyping. I'm talking about how each champion has people who consider them their main, and who often build their league identity around this champion, and it affects who they are to other league players, and perhaps who they are outside of the game.
Just as people bring their own culture into this game, this game begins to give people who play it their own culture, which makes trying to explain the game to other people who don't play it similar to trying to explain certain trends that are simply exist among the people you know most well.
And just like league itself may have it's own culture, there are those who have their own more insular cultures surrounding maybe the champion roles they are most familiar with and which they most associate themselves with. But beyond even that, there are the champion main cultures, people whose primary connection with league may be formed out of one entire champion. I have a friend who plays nothing but Sona, she has personal connection with that champion (I'm not at liberty to discuss), but Sona is what connects her most to League.
People see me around the forums all the time, I often pop up where Malicious Metal may be seen, and I'm sure some of you know who that is, an avid fan of Mordekaiser, as I am and who I consider my main. Often you get a glimpse into the culture of Mordekaiser mains whenever Malicious Metal makes a post, since it usually focuses on our main and which naturally draws in discussion by other mains.
It makes me curious about the potential cultures of other players who main different champions, people who are familiar with Mordekaiser know that trends can result among Mordekaiser mains BECAUSE of maining that champion. I myself have become a fan of metal music majorly because of Mordekaiser being a metal icon, and I have even found myself hue'ing occasionally in real life.
I'm curious as to what cultures the mains of other champions may have, as well as more interest in my own champion's playerbase culture.
GABAGU NABAN DEMAGLIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
i don't really know what to say about this one but...
me and other avid shyvana players often need to clarify that her champion design is not at all that of a tank and that she plays more like a melee ADC than anything else... something which non-shyv players tend to not understand and often ask for her to be reworked to have a more utility/CC oriented kit because they find her current playstyle boring, even though actual shyv fans love the way she plays... prejudice against dragons is real :P
and I'm actually good at him
I love
: love being the hero that just saves people's lives. It is so satisfying to keep someone barely alive in a teamfight by healing them asap each time its off cd.
: I honestly love zyra because very few people in low elo know what she does and how to play against her. Alot of cc, and i love the zone control feel of her kit. Plus the snare that can go through minions is super helpful unlike a morg bind that stops at first target.
I have a crisis.
Am I human?
Or a bird?
