Hextech Crafting Proposal (Orange Essence)
Hey guys! Inferno here with an idea that i just had after looking through my Hextech Crafting Loot.
So after looking through the crafting I remember how everyone always had issues with Blue and Orange essence as an obtainable material. After around a month or so, Riot released Champion Shards; a quick and easy way to get a random champion for a low price. Now this is now used mostly for obtaining blue essence. So that easily solved the blue essence issue and leveling up champions with for a new mastery.
So what about orange essence?
Well, as of now the most viable way of getting any orange essence is from disenchanting a Skin Shard. Now the value can easily vary between skins. But what happens if you are just 1 little orange essence off? Then what? Waiting for another chest to be available can be a very boring task and honestly, nobody wants to go through that.
But now I believe that what i have in mind could help save a lot of people time!
The Proposal
So what I have in mind is fairly simple.
Players should be able to disenchant mastery tokens for orange essence. Level 6 = 150 Orange Essence and Level 7 = 300 Orange essence. Now yes this could be abused, but what if you could only disenchant a total of 2 Level 6's and 1 Level 7 shard every month. This will cap the essence at a reasonable 600 essence every month. Now that does not seems like a lot, but it certainly adds up over time.
What I think makes this a very good trade is because you, for one, can only disenchant 3 tokens at a time. Second, you will then lose the shard completely for a champion that you may want to level up further. So, that means you are spending more games to get that champion a token and increase their mastery. Some people do like to crank out games for shards but you can have only 2 tokens per champion for Level 6 Mastery and 3 tokens for Level 7 Mastery. So, that means more time wasted on getting back those S ranks. Especially if you sold a Level 7 token, it is harder to get a S than an S-.
Conclusion
So with this, I believe people will no longer have to pull hairs or pay money they do not need to spend. But in turn, makes people spend more time trying to obtain S ranks for the tokens. It gives a desperate person an ability to get some extra essence for more time out of their day which seems like quite a fair trade. The fact that you cannot get an S every game makes this a bit more tedious than it seems due to the fact that every game is different.
But overall, this will give a bit more flexibility to people who are so close to unlocking a skin shard in exchange for something they worked hard to get. But you cannot farm the essence unless you wait months on end to even unlock a skin, and at that point, you could have unlocked a few boxes.
