Is it wrong to get upset when people say "It's just a game, why do you take it seriously."

One of the most frustrating things as a player for me is having to deal with people who don't take the game as seriously as you. Whenever they do something idiotic like go Teemo jungle and end up feeding, they just say something like "LOL dude its just a game, no need to get butt hurt." Am I taking the game too seriously, or is the hypothetical Teemo correct?

And if I get more of these type of players, how to I kindly explain to them that I take the game seriously without looking like a "No Life"

People like to pretend they don't care because hen when they fail they can say "well it's not like I cared anyways"

hint they do care, a lot to the point where they self sabotage.

My view on it is I assume you are playing normals since if its ranked, you HAVE to try hard and if you don't, you have no reason to be in ranked, ranked is meant to be competitive so if you aren't you should not be in there, hell if there was a system in place that kicked people from ranked if it could tell they are trolls, it would be a lot nicer of a place.

But for normals I see it as this. I can understand someone sucking since its the go to place to try out new things, but god damn you have to try at least. If someone can't be bothered to try then why are you even playing? The most common thing I hear people respond with that is when they feed a lane since they did the same thing that got them killed several times ina row and when someone calls them out on it, they say that.

There is a difference between being a try hard and being competent which people in normals seem too stupid to understand. All in all, report them for negative attitude since with responses like that they are basically a troll and they will get sorted out.

Teemo jg is actually terrifying with devourer's. It's called devourer's because he uses it to eat your soul. But I'm getting off topic. It depends which game mode. If it's just normal, then no, I don't think that you should be angry because someone doesn't take it seriously. If it's ranked, then go ahead and be angry, it's ranked. Everyone should take it seriously. Personally, I just refuse to surrender in any ranked game. When my teams surrender in ranked, I get really annoyed.

I only say that when people start flaming and raging at others for doing poorly, so I think that's acceptable, whether it be in ranked or normals. Obviously if it's said by someone trolling in ranked (meh, maybe normals), then no, it is not okay.

welcome to NA servers. its why our challenger scene is called the Korean Bronze. because hardly anyone takes it seriously enough to be considered legitimate players.

Full of Trolls

Its a pretty dumb thing to say IMO but you probably shouldn't be upset by it.

Unless they are coming into a game completely like who gives a shit its a game and are trolling theres really no reason to be upset by it. Its most likely a misunderstanding. In my experience this is usually something people say to attempt to deflect some of the blame and more of a (misguided) attempt to defuse tension in a game.
