Off meta is "trolling"

Today I hopped into a team builder as teemo mid, with a bard adc, blitz support, alistar top, and hecarim jg. We started to win surprisingly even though we had a way off meta and weird team composition. About halfway through, the enemy zilean started getting really salty calling us trolls and said we were ruining the game, since we had "Champions in the wrong spots" and were therefore trolling and winning. The jinx also told us to stop being d1cks. Eventually the game ended and I was reported for harassment by someone. Meanwhile the zilean continued to complain about how putting champions in the wrong spots was op and trolling.

Why? How? What? I don't even get that zilean...

Edit: I understand that off meta isn't truly trolling but it was a funny experience to witness.

i like to go Ahri Velkoz Syndra as ADC lol. basicly kill the enemy ADC with 1 full combo. even better when i get a leo, blitz, or thresh.

Now the Bard ADC might be trolling but it's the Jinx's fault for not punishing that. Otherwise, ignore them and play what you want.

The weirdest picks can also be the fun ones.

Going off-meta is not trolling. Going off-meta when your team asks you not to is unsportsmanlike, and may not be a reportable offense, but it should be. I've had lobbies in draft where a guy who's last pick will intentionally antagonize his teammates, then decide he's just going duo mid or duo jungle and cry "I'm just going off-meta. You can't report me for that."

That shit is annoying. Playing with a team that's OK with you doing weird shit is just having fun with friends.

tbh none of these picks are trolls, teemo mid is common, alistar top exists, bard adc is suprisingly good if the player has the mechanic.

I play a serious Ahri Galio support and its sad when people say I'm a troll pick. I played against a teemo mid as akali and I got shit on that blind would fuck me in and out no matter how I approached him.

Do they not get that meta mean Most Effective Tactic Available? If you are OFF meta that means that you are by definition not optimal. The reason they were salty was because they simply didn't know how to react to uncommon picks.

Also, if picking off meta was trolling/harassment then Solwolf should be banned by now.

I love doing off meta teams, mainly because the enemy has no idea how to fight it Still, it isn't trolling unless you are like feeding on purpose with it

1 player as jungler 2 players what have a solo lane 2 players what share one lane

and that meta only exist to optimise the gold income

One time I absolutely destroyed an adc Jinx with Syndra support. In the post game chat after their surrender @ 20, she said something incoherent about how I was setting a bad example for everyone.

I feel you man. I play almost exclusively AP Varus and have for years. He's really powerful once you know how to use him. I just laugh when I go 14/7 and my team all goes 2/11 and at the end of the game they all blame me when we lose. You have to have a thick skin to main an off-meta champ.
