LCS and Supports

So I was watching the end-of-game commentary for the C9 and Immortals game and I realize how little the they discussed the impact of supports on the game. Their discussions mostly focus on the players that dealt damage which is understandable but goddamn at least talk about the amazing supports. I noticed how many times Tahm Kench ate Ashe and how many pillars Trundle threw out. They did all so they could successfully help their team to victory and they get NOTHING said about them.

Am I the only one who feels like this is kinda how the League community sees supports? Buy expensive items to help your team, make plays and peel but nobody ever notices or comments on the impact you made to the game? It's rare I get someone on my team who appreciates the work I put into keeping an ADC alive (which we all know can be trying af sometimes).

I wonder when supports will get fun items that aren't sightstone and locket every single game. I also wonder when people will start viewing supports as a role that actually matters.
