I play teemo a lot lately. He doesnt lack an escape... he has blind and sprint. If you cant hit him, his sprint causes him to run faster and faster. So to who said he does not have an escape is wrong, that doesnt include a flash or if I buy twin shadow.

What DOES suck for a teemo is staying together and vision thing. The biggest things I catch people on are

  1. Expect the unexpected : I take teleport going lane to lane to be unpredictable. While other summoner spells are amazing im sure this also lets me use shrooms to defend 2-3 lanes at a time. I can single handed turn a game around, slow pushing enough to help my team to recover, but only when the enemy does not heed the following.

  2. wandering, roaming, chasing : Every bad team does it. Teemo is an opportunist. If you are alone, its bad add mushrooms... that's real bad. so STAY TOGETHER when you can and DONT chase.

  3. His passive : If you have a TEEMO and you are sure hes not in a bush, but you dont see him. Unless you know you can take him or know WHERE he is dont cross the save point which brings me to point 4

  4. Vision : I have DOMINATED on teemo before to only see the other team 45 minutes in STILL not buying wards. They were clearly afraid to push, walked behind creeps (etc). If you find yourself doing that, buy wards.

See I put my shrooms where creeps wont walk. All be it unorthodox for me to shroom NEAR a bush (sometimes in) at corners of turns or on the SIDES of a lane, its very effective for keeping creeps off them, and I can (and my team) run to them. (Unless im defending a lane and want them to stop creeps).

So.... thats how I usually make a killing. the only other thing is an AP teemo is kind of forced to be dirty. I get a double burn with staff and mask + poison. And BTW teemo does not have to get hero kills to get 'fed'. He gets very high CS usually. He also rarely has to go back if you know how to use his passive. So his lane time is insane.

Teemo, like a lot of "OP" champions, can be beaten with the right strategy - and rather easy, too. He lacks a real good escape, so good ganks destroy him, as does well used CC.

I haven't really seen a Teemo do super well unless the other laner was feeding horribly, but maybe that's just me. I do notice that, for some reason, he dominates in Bronze. Probably because [in general] a lot of Bronze players tend to make bad decisions, since they don't have a whole lot of experience. But at the same time, I've seen Silver players that are 10 times worse than bronze players, so..

So, let me get this straight. You think Teemo is useless, and that the useless champion blinds you, and then you die? That really doesn't sound useless. That sounds awesome. Maybe you should join in on the fun.
If you can't beat 'em, join 'em.
Alternatively, look up counters to Teemo. He's pretty simple to counter.

Over-powered? He is one of the only champions in the game that can be made useless by buying vision items, which directly affects his ULT as well as his PASSIVE. No other champion can be shutdown due to a simple item. Not to mention shields. So now that his passive and his ultimate can be taken away, what else does he have? A blind, a poison, and a sprint? That's what makes him OP?? Blinds only help against ADC's or melee-dependent champions and poisons are not enough to burst someone down. The sprint is useless if anyone has a flash or dash. Just because he is annoying to lane against does not mean he is Over-powered. People in this community throw that label on anything or anyone that beats them. I would save that "OP" label for champions like Katarina, who has the consistent killing potential to take on an entire team. So please choose your words carefully.

Simple things like bringing a pink ward to dragon or any objective. People with sweepers or wraith vision buff, these very inexpensive answers that should be utilized regardless of if teemo is in the game will negate the majority of teemo shrooms. He is also extremely squishy and if the jungle doesn't run into shrooms (sweeper/pink) it's one of the easier gangs to make, if teemo isn't already losing his lane due to a bad matchup.

He's certainly strong in lane but doesn't exactly fit the meta wombo combo style of play

All I can say is this,

I don't really think Riot planned for Teemo facing off against melee champs early game. I've seen it one too many times. Teemo has an easy way to initiate a large portion of damage and many ways to escape, from its speed buff to its slowing mushrooms. Only few melee champions can atcually meet Teemo head on likeDrMundo , but only because of a skill that can easily be blocked by a blinding dart. I've actually done this against an Aatrox on both sides. Aatrox is unable to initiate because Teemo's faster and can escape from Dark flight. The only surefire way to initiate is to use Blades of Torment to slow and then use Dark flight, assuming you actually land BoT.

All I'm saying is that Teemo should have less coverage against Melee champs like reducing attack damage or some skills only work close range.
