[Need Help] Addicted to League but no longer enjoy it? [NO HATRED INCLUDED]

I just want to talk to the community about my issue of being addicted to League. Ok first of all, I've been playing league since 2010, that was the year league was introduced to me by my brother. I remember visiting him in his room, saw him looking at the champions' portraits and reading their abilities and lores. I had no knowledge at all on league of legends, so I sat beside him and watched what he was looking and reading. I remember looking at the portraits of the champions, I pointed out the ones I thought were cute (Teemo, and Heimerdinger (regreted it when I saw his brain head in-game) ). So then a few hours later, I asked my brother if he could teach me how to play league, I wanted to try it out because I used to play the ooold Dota. He taught me how to play league, it was kind of confusing at first but I was able to master the clicking on the abilties. I tried using the keyboard to cast my spells, but I just couldn't do it, clicking the abilities itself with my mice felt more comfortable. So from then on, I really enjoyed league! whenever I got home from school, I'd open up my computer and play league right away. I'd even scream whenever the internet fs up! Looking back in time, I kinda feel embarrassed for being an annoying kid. Anyway! I enjoyed playing league... until early 2013 has arrived, I realized that I was wasting my time playing in normals, wasn't earning anything. Therefore, I decided to start playing in ranked, things got serious because the game felt more challenging and it felt like I had to do everything, anything to get myself to silver. I had friends who I competed with. I liked to keep up with the news and upcoming skins, that was the time I discovered surrender@20, every morning after I wake up, I'd open my phone/computer/tablet and go to surrender@20 right away. I did that every morning and I still do. But now, not that often anymore but I still do visit the site. I still play the game, I feel bored like a zombie while playing, inside my head I hear "what are you getting from this game?", I want to say "fun" but I no longer feel the "fun". My friends still play league with me but.. I don't feel like I am having fun at all. Now it just feels like, getting myself ingame where I have to play with people who would just f up my day. The "fun" is no longer beneficial.

I also realized that, whenever I am thinking of my bad days (class, PE, homework, tests, fails), I'd spontaneously think and sometimes whisper to myself the word "League of Legends", and from then on, league of legends (champions, tier, skins) would be the only thing I'm thinking. It's like, the way for me to forget those bad thoughts.

This is probably the cause of my forgetfulness today, I am so forgetful, I forget what I watched and learned a few hours ago. I'd have to remember the time where I was before, and I would have to remember the things I did after that, step by step.

In conclusion, I still play league but I no longer see the point of playing this game. I already gave up ranked, but I still play ranked games. I play with friends but I don't feel the fun. All I think while I play this game now is, "I'm wasting my time, you're gonna be a goner, and pretty much every negative thoughts I could think of.)

If you read the whole thing, I'd like to thank you for keeping up with my story. However! this isn't a story! it is something I want the lol community to read and see if they relate to me. And if someone has a solution on how to get myself out of this addiction, please feel free to post your tip. Uninstalling the game would be an option, but I'd install it back anyway because.... it's kinda hard to explain, but it's like... being addicted to drugs, I'd feel annoyed and irritated. Visiting the site surrender@20 would be enough for me to stop the irritation.

Is there anyway to refresh my mind and regain the abilities I've lost during those years? (creativity, memorization, etc.)

I need help.

For me, I was definitely addicted to this game for a long time. It was like the only thing I ever wanted to do in my spare time and it seemed really hard to do anything else anymore. But I found a solution. You can finally move on from something when you find something else you like more. If this game is really bothering you, then there's definitely something else out there that maybe you haven't discovered the existence of yet, but you'll probably like it more than this game. For me, that something is dancing. It's way better than this game and now I'm plenty happy doing it all the time. You should try it.

My personal remedy is taking a break. Like, I'll binge play League for a long time, and then if I start feeling like it's warming out its welcome, I'll take a break and jump on Guild War or TERA or something. A game completely different than any MOBA. During that time though, I'll usually keep up with LCS and stuff, watching the games. A few days/weeks later, I see some awesome play in LCS with Rengar and I'm like, "I need to play that champion." So I hop back on League and get to work!

It's also helpful if you have friends that play. Nothing beats LAN parties with your mates. :3
