Hextech Crafting Question

If you put a champion's skin on rental, are you not supposed to get it back? I put Star Guardian Lux and Primetime Draven(both of which I liked, but didn't have enough essence for either), but when it was over, I got neither of them back. Is this intended or is this a bug?
