The past few month and the future of changes
For a few years now, I have seen riot go into the deep bottomless abyss of bad decision. I've been around since trundle/cassie and karma in season 1 so I've seen my share of failures. Like release karma, she used to be so bad that having her on the enemy team almost gave you an auto-win. I've seen both trundle releases and, I'm sad he lost his original identity, I don't dislike the new one it is well made a bit in the simple lines but still.
Yet you nailed it, I give it to you riot, you nailed this event. Not only this but the AP item changes are pretty nice, I'm not taking a stance yet for the armor changes while I do love the -10% crit damage on
.
While a lot of people complained about
being disabled since they wanted to play him but I felt it was nice and refreshing for an event to actually have some repercussion. If my favorite champions was to be disabled for similar reason (
) I might not be thrilled, but I would not be pissed off as long as I knew that it is for X amount of time and above all else temporary. That's where riot messed up, they should have told us how long GP was to be disabled.
This also open the door for "war event" where you choose a side and complete mission like in the act of a burning tide, after each act some champ from the losing side could be disabled until the end of the event. Now it would need to be kept under control and not disabled 10 champions, at most 1-2 maybe 3-4 and keep it under a week, of course allowing them to be played in coop, custom maybe TT and dominion might even work (maybe ranked, I'm not the one that can make the call). Think around the line of Demacia vs Noxus showdown, if demacia wins in the first round darius is diabled for 4 days, in the second round Noxus wins and Xin or garen goes in the final round the "leader" in this case swain or Jarvan would be out of commission.
seems fine to me in the big lines, being able to auto apply 5 stack of passive is great for him. But I won't say more about him since I've played him like once or twice and can't say how the rest will affect him.
, interesting, weird even bizarre but mostly confusing aiming for objective master feel is something I agree with am I a fan of the capture thing? Hell no, I hated it on new Twisted Treeline, and now I fear it.
, great actually it good enough that I might just pick him up. EXCEPT HIS W, in my opinion not allowing the W to work solo for the most part is bad design wise. Abilities that works only when an ally is nearby or other specific conditions are interesting but actually limit gameplay. What you should look for are more akin to "empowered abilities". For example with morde, his W deal damage over time around himself/nearest allied unit or targe unit and himself, IF the allied unit is a champion it can be recast for a heal. Bam, works fine. By the way loooove the dragon, very unique and add a whole new dimension to the dragon when mordekaiser is in the game.
Now
, the changes look interesting, but in overall when you just look at the changes it doesn't make sense, might make more sense in-game but slowing yourself when moving toward the guy you wanna beat up feel very counter-intuitive.
TL:DR From what I have seen recently and from what is upcoming, I have finally have a little little light of hope starting shimmer, please riot don't violently murder like we all know you can do. Keep up the good work.
PS: Riot, when you ship something to the PBE, stop thinking it makes the changes final, it's fine to use it to test weird things, but everyone is afraid because most of the time if it goes on the PBE it goes on live.
My final words: The future hold many great possibilities.
