How come all these girls play support

Ok im a girl, Wait! Before you leave calling me a thirsty siren! I have a something valid to say. But first let me start with a story, I was on the rift grinding playing mid 90% going 16/7/5 as always (i can't carry though I'll be the only fed one on the team and we will still lose because i don't know what to do with my lead i get objects and ill tell my team but they get destroyed while im gone if anyone has any advice for me please tell me) anyway one game i got stuck with adc (im horrible at adc and support i get too agressive overextend and die, i play assasins only) so i picked teemo adc and i got a soraka support and a amazing support was she we won lane hard and we won the game too she messaged me after game telling me how good i was and i liked that and then she told me she was a girl and i was so happy to know that there was another girl playing because its rare to see girls play competitively. I told her i was a girl too and she unadded me -.- "so what does this have to do with girls being support" Well, how come on every stream, every youtube, every game all girls play support like there are no other positions or champions avalible come on ladies , play top play mid play jungle i can play all roles (except adc)

I'm a girl, I play ADC and Support.

I play support, because if i'm not support, or my friend isn't support..

#THEY SUCK.

They Rush Full AP Support and never buy wards or build what the team NEEDS...

Girls don't have to play support, I mean, play what you prefer

Err.....what did I just read ? Have no idea how to even respond to something like this lmao. I never got why people get so hung up on gender in a video game like it even matters a single iota. Never cared what gender someone was....I only care about whether they're feeders or not.

I always wondered why the girls I met play support.Maybe because their friends stuck them there and did not give them any change to try another role. Anyway your story had nothing to do with the question but I love it!

im a woman, i play a lot of the roles...my issue with being on a tank ( Shyvana ) fighter...and if my healer cant keep up it gets to be an issue. xD i have a tendency on her to get very aggressive and tower dive when i see the chance. or i can be a backup tank. by shy is my tank Bae. <3 i just have more fun with mages, and the sneaky classes. come on, who doesnt love a free shroom/trap kill. LOL but also depends who you are playing with too. i solo a lot so the games can go either way. i did a killer game on jinx a couple days ago. but, her too i get aggressive...sooooo....yea. ive met tons of other females that play just as hard. but then again ive been a gamer since i was a kiddo (NES). LOL!

I'm a girl and I play support because the queue times are way shorter. I enjoy playing top and jungle as well, but since my time is limited I can only play like 2 games a night on weeknights if at all so waiting 10+ minutes to get into a game isn't ideal.

I'm a girl and I main support (secondary jungle). My first champion was actually Sivir (back in 2010), but I eventually started playing mostly support because I liked it the most.

I can imagine several reasons for this.

Some girls just plain like playing support.
Some girls were brought to the game by friends/boyfriends/brothers/whatnot who asked them to support them, as duos OFTEN duo bot and adc is a more demanding role for a newer player. Thus they primarily learned support champions.
More support champions appeal to girls than champions of other roles do. (A lot of girls I know love Lulu, Annie, Morgana and Nami for instance)
Peer and societal pressure from other players pushes them towards the role. (This one is likely why so many you tubers and streamers pick the role). Women feel they have to.
This one is most likely.... because this freakin' stereotype exists and the internet is full of sexists and rude teenage boys who will flame and harass a woman for even the flimsiest of reasons. Fail to carry a game as a man and it's because you're a bad player. Fail to carry a game as a woman and it's because WOMEN are bad players. That knee-jerk reaction is EVERYWHERE and it's why most women don't announce that they're women and others play the game in as "acceptable" a way as possible.

If you really want to see... swap your summoner name to something feminine sounding or make a new account or something and see how much more harassment you eat when people assume you're a girl. It's brutal and depressing.

I main Lux. So mid and supp are where I'm gonna go. In general I prefer AP champs, and they tend to be in those lanes.

In ranked, I typically go supp because I'm in bronze, and I'm trying to carry as ap support along with my duo who goes mid. Diana > Lux, and I cannot play Diana.

If I ever get higher up, I'll probs switch to some other lane (just not adc) and let an actual support main have supp, lol.

In norms I play whoever the heck I want- top, mid, jung, and the occasional supp.

I'm genuinely not sure why there's a stereotype about girls going support... I joined the game because I saw my friend (also female) playing it. I purposely stayed away from support because of the stereotype. I actually used to main adc before I realized I prefer ap champs.

My friend who got me into LoL mains Diana. So she mains mid. Though she goes adc quite often in ranked as well.

Another friend who recently joined prefers top and supp. She likes the tanky champs, but hates jung. I feel like everyone hates jungle starting out though, lol.
