AFKs and Feeders in High elo (Plat and above)- only respond if ur high elo

This whole week I've been having unwinnable games due to bot lane feeding/one person getting behind so hard that he afks or just doesnt do anythiing in the game.

Now I've dropped 2 divisions, and in the past 3 promos from plat 3 to plat 2, I've had an afk in each one of them. How is it even possible to carry these kinds of games.

Last game was the only one I did poorly on, but even then it was because my thresh fed 0/3 to vayne in under 10 min, and then I got 4 man ganked 3 times while Thresh AFKed.

How do you climb out of these situations? And now that I 'm high elo, I can definitely confirm that there is such thing as elo hell.
