Before you say it's free, my friends and I have actually bought chests as well. I've spent money being told I would be able to do something with it and I am unable to. That's false advertisement. I'd just like an idea on time frame and possibilities. I think 6 months w/o word shows enough patience.

ValyrianBlade1 votesWhen it started, we had 4 chests available. We've gained 1 per week. I currently have no chests available and have received 10 chests total I think. That implies that it has been 6 weeks, not 6 months.
They're working on it. Maybe it won't be super fast. Given that the average player would only have a maximum of 10 chests by now (with probably 3-4 unopened due to keys - my current spot), it's unlikely anyone has more than 2 or 3 champion shards that are currently useless to them. Assuming those shards don't provide sufficient essence for whatever Riot comes up with, then there's no harm that they haven't released it yet.
E.g. say each champion shard averages 300 essence. Let's say Riot decides to release the ability to spend 2000 blue essence to re-roll a permanent skin shard in to another permanent skin shard. You'd need an average of 7 champion shards to do that, which most players would be a LONG ways out from (and those unlucky enough to get a lot of champion shards wouldn't have the 3 skin shards yet to reroll in to a permanent to use this reroll on anyways).
So just be patient. They'll get to it eventually. You can also save the shards and reroll 3 in to a guaranteed champion you don't own (i.e. when the new champion is released, immediately get it for free).

I myself am sitting on double digit champ shards due to purchasing them. My friend is sitting on 7k champion essence for purchasing them. This isn't about free stuff but stuff we paid for. I have 0 complaints about the acquisitions of free stuff. My issue was with being told I'd be able to do something with it; which lead to myself and others purchasing them. That's false advertising and that's illegal.

Can't believe I'm bothering to respond to this given how clear it is that you're just a troll, but w/e. Just because hextech crafting was announced 6 months ago doesn't mean that Riot had thought of the potential problem of people owning every champion wanting something extra for blue essence (since you can just use it to get each new champion as it's released). I don't know when this concept arose. It was definitely around 6 weeks ago when Hextech went live. Perhaps it was brought up on the PBE 2 weeks prior to that? Either way, I doubt this 'problem' has been around for the full 6 months, maybe 2. Probably less since Riot addressed it. Please, go look and find the first reference you can of a Rioter saying that they will do something additional with blue essence. That's the only way your argument will have merit.
It's not false advertising or illegal as long as they eventually release something. They didn't give themselves a timeline. They also stated that purchasing hextech chests/keys would give you skins at a discount, but that if you wanted something specific you're better off buying it directly. I.e. they admitted you may get stuff you don't want (champion shards would fall in to that bucket).
Regardless of whether they announced you could do something with blue essence X months ago, you definitely didn't acquire that blue essence more than 6 weeks ago. So you haven't been 'patient' for 6 months, it's still been only 6 weeks since you bought any chests. They'll get there eventually. It'd be nice if they implemented something sooner rather than later, but does it really matter all of that much? Wouldn't you prefer they do a good job of releasing something you actually want (e.g. like hextech annie equivalent of something for blue essence) rather than something you really don't care about (e.g. summoner icons). Maybe they're in the process of designing a unique skin for these players to use blue essence to buy, better they take their time and release a really cool skin that costs a lot (which you'll be a good ways towards having) rather than rush it and release a simple recolor of urgot or yorrick.

Your attitude has caused me to change my mind. Insulting people and throwing the word 'illegal' around when you clearly have no idea what you are talking about isn't going to win you much in the way of support.
It isn't that Riot's not honoring some sort of contract here. They were never obligated to give away free stuff in the first place. They simply haven't come up with a good solution to this problem yet. That's not illegal. You're just impatient (and extremely immature, considering your attitude).

Twiggles1 votesAnd just what part of that are they violating? Blue essence being useless to players that own every champion is an issue that has been known and acknowledged for a long time. They haven't deceived anyone about that. They never said "Hey! Check out this blue essence stuff! Players that own every champion can use it to do this that and the other thing!" They acknowledged that they didn't have a solution for that issue yet and were working on figuring something out.
But by all means. Tell me exactly what part of that link shows Riot's alleged illegal activity and explain why it is relevant.

It falls under both of those. Asking for them deliver is a legal right anyone who has purchased them has.

Riot explained that blue essence is used to upgrade champion shards to permanents. This is not a lie. You can even still do this if you have every champion. At that point the champion permanent is given to you as inventory loot. Champion shards can also be rerolled into permanents or disenchanted for blue essence. These are still true statements, and remain true even with every champion owned. Riot has not lied or given a false impression as to the grade, quality, etc. They acknowledged from the beginning that that champ shards and blue essence were not as useful for players that own every champion. They have never used a statement or illustration that would cause a reasonable consumer to be induced to purchase goods or services other than those offered. Riot offers chests with randomized loot, you get chests with randomized loot.
(2) The first contact or interview with the consumer is secured by the supplier through deception, even if the relevant facts of the offer are disclosed to the consumer before the consumer views the offered goods or services;
I don't even understand how you think this one applies. First contact between Riot and consumers about hextech crafting was secured through updating their site's news section. Not through deceiving anyone.
Hextech crafting falls under neither of the examples you provided. You are certainly entitled to ask for an update on the situation (I'd like to know what plans they are considering as well). However, you are trying to expose illegal practices where there are none. It doesn't help that responses such as your deleted one towards ValyrianBlade make you seem like an impatient asshole.
