With DQ ruining my interest and enjoyment of LoL; what should I do to enjoy LoL again?

I'm a scrub who is only shinier bronze (Gold) but am losing my interest and enjoyment of LoL; I'm at a lost in what to do to enjoy LoL again. The only time I'm not dreading queueing for a match is during RGM's on weekends. Any tips or advice from players appreciated.

What Got me into League***

  1. I enjoyed the solo aspect of rankings due to not having friends to play with. It reflects what I'm able to do and not who I can get to play with me.
  2. I enjoyed the lore.
  3. I enjoyed that you could outplay and outthink your opponents.
  4. I enjoyed watching the best players stream to learn what they are doing.

What I hate about current LoL***

  1. Riot blatantly lied to us about solo queue; I honestly wouldn't have spent money this year if I knew they were going to not bring in solo queue.
  2. Premades ruining ranked games by not trying due to "playing with friends" or shouldn't be at a level due to getting a better queue due to being premade.
  3. Ranked games are determined by who gets the worst premade; not by 5 people randomly trying to work together.
  4. The top players aren't streaming b/c they aren't playing DQ. They are playing on TR and aren't allowed to stream it.
  5. The client is buggy as hell.

I'll end on what I like about current LoL.

What I like about current LoL

  • I think balance (on the ladder; not pro play) is at an all time high. Besides tank Fizz, I don't think anything is "broken" (way too much damage and tankiness).
  • I really like the new champ select. It has prevented me from having to dodge ranked games due to get stuck as JG. I suck at it; not going to lie.

Been playing less and less.

I won a match with a 4 man premade on my side recently... we then queued as 5 and steamrolled for like 4 games straight. It was pure annihilation because we were (obviously) way more coordinated than the poor 5 solos we were facing in each match. They didn't even stand a chance.

Basically, they turned this game from "My level of skill matters" to "My level of skill doesn't matter" ... and that is unacceptable to me. OP is correct.

Were you really facing 5 solo players 4 games straight? How would you even know that?

They had no reason to lie... plus you can look up my match history on NA OP GG and see about a 5 game win streak a couple of days ago (First game we didn't queue together, then we did 4 as 5 man queue) where I play with the same teammates and how we steamrolled every enemy team. Notice how none of them had similar names, clan tags, icons, etc.

That's exactly what I'm talking about. That's why Dynamic Queue is bullshit. Bring back solo queue.

People lie about being queued up together a lot lol. It seems the only way I know if my teammates are queued up (outside of clan tags) is to ask the other team if they are.

I'm not sure what you're quoting that for? Your response had nothing to do proving that the enemy team wasn't queued up just because they said they were. As I (and many others) said, many people lie about it. I'm not doubting you being premade if that's what you think.

I play with the same group of friends a lot. We all have extremely different names, icons, and no clan tag. Why would a group of friends go to the trouble to change their info to seem like a legit team? That just doesn't seem worth it.

You can tell a lot about your opponents usually by club tags and names. My last ranked game had a 3 man premade (all in same club and tag) who denied knowing each other. 2 of the 3 were so bad that the third denied knowing them.

I just stopped playing. My last ranked game was april 28. I only play when my friends ask to fill custom.

i actually uninstalled league today, i have always been one of those shit talkers who has said i'm leaving asap but never could, but idk today i felt the power to do so. The game hasn't been fun for me for at least a year and a half now, i haven't really enjoyed LCS or the actual game itself since season 4

Well if you are a high elo player you can just do what the rest of them are doing. Go smurf in Bronze and make our lives even more hell than it already is.

I'm in the same boat my friend, I've put a lot more hours into Destiny and Fallout 4 these past few weeks than I can tolerate on LoL

ive just been logging on to play featured game modes tbh. I quit playing for about 2 or so months cause i lost interest and started playing Salt and Sanctuary. I got drawn back in by Taliyah and right now shes the only thing keeping me in the game.

Experimenting with Off-Meta playstyles and builds for various champions is a nice way to spice things up. And you might discover something OP by doing so.

I'm probably going to be the odd one out here but, just play to have fun maybe?

I hear a lot of complaints about DQ ruining the Ranked integrity. But you know what, that doesn't phase me, cause I don't really care about ranked. Sure I try to get better at the game, but it doesn't mean much to actually measure myself against other people. And I do enjoy watching the pro scene as well.

Also, I enjoy much more of the game play than just SR. I'm a pretty big fan of ARAM, as well as many of the featured game modes.

For me, getting into league was, a) I got interested because of memes, and the fact that Sona reminded me of Hatsune Miku. b) I tried it out when I heard it wasn't pay to win. and c) I stuck with it because it's still a fun game.

Yea, the thing about ARAM and FGM is they don't draw me to want to log in and play though.

The thing about DQ is it's impact on ranked; which is what drew so many people to LoL.

Don't play ranked. It's way too stressful. Normals you try your best but if you have a leaver or feeder you can just say "well, I got to practice early game at least, time to play the next one" instead of suffering through LP or promotion loss.

I can only speak for myself but:

I am enjoying my time in another game (OW).

Will I play League again? Maybe. IF Riot reverts the changes on the queuing system. But as long as DynQ is the only thing that I can play when I want to do ranked, League won't see another minute of me logging in, and neither will Rito see any RP money from me.

Take a break to do something else. Like exercise or something.

If you're close to Cleveland, you can come with me and some people to watch the Cavs game Thursday :) (the watch party in Cleveland, not inside because tickets are already like $500 for the worst seats)
