ARAM

My hopes are that the Developers are reading this.

Due to the toxicity level of the players in Normal and ranked matches i've pretty much banished myself to ARAM. Partly because Summoners rift is toxic and partly (well probably mostly) i'm just not a very good player at early game and it leads to my teams loosing to much, or at least that's how i view it even tho it's never been said to me outright. anyway I'd like to suggest a few things and maybe get some POSITIVE feedback. Please if you're just here to troll go away and burn in whatever perverbial hell you came from. but if you care to have a civil discussion on the merits of the suggestions feel free to post to your hearts content.

1: Allow formed teams, picked champions for Howling Abyss, obviously not called aram at that point but it DOES allow players to practice team fighting and develop useable skills for Summoners rift

  1. Remove the damn snowballs, it's fine when it's in the poro king game but it's ruined the map and is not something that can be used in competitive matches for summoners rift, it gives unfair advantages to assassin classes as well as heavy tank classes and there's no counter for support or rear fighters to get away.

  2. Give a seperate ladder OR allow players to rank up if Option 1 above is implemented, maybe at a reduced reward but certainly something can be done to make it worth playing Howling Abyss. Perhaps this is a place where Solo Que could shine?

  3. Is there a way to put voice activation in the game? or if not, is there a public TS or Vent server running anywhere? as I'm not aware of one but seems like this game SORELY needs it.

These ideas are not meant in any way to replace ARAM, but are options for the Howling Abyss map as options or choices.
Your positive suggestions and feedback are welcome, I know it's easy to shoot down ideas but I ask that you make suggestions to make this work instead of just telling me how much i suck and to FOnD Noob. Thanks.

The snowballs are a wonderful addition. It allows champions like Udyr, Volibear and Shyvana actually function on that map. Without snowball only poke style champions function well on there and that's not fair that games are decided by whoever has the most poke.

Howling Abyss is far more shallow than Summoners Rift. There is only one lane and no jungle. And the champions are assigned to you randomly. That's too much RNG for a rank to be assigned.

Curse voice works.

It feels awkward to position HA as practice for SR. They're separate game modes/maps and should remain as such. Having some skills naturally carry over is fine and expected, but making changes for HA specifically so that you can practice SR makes no sense.

Ranked ARAM would be great. However, with the Champ Mastery announcement yesterday, Riot apparently thinks blind pick normal SR is more competitive than ranked draft TT. Given that ARAM has always been considered less competitive than TT, getting ranked ARAM despite that mindset would be a herculean task.

As for voice chat, League doesn't provide one. Riot is no longer officially opposed to voice comms, but updating the client is currently their main priority. You might be able to find League communities running their own Curse, TS, Vent, Discord, etc. though.

I'm not sure why it wouldn't be feasible and possible to add a PAM (picked All Middle) option to HA. As i said above, leave the current ARAM alone and add this as an option. Tweak it so that it works as a form of practicing team fighting, and then give it a ladder or ranked reward.

I'm sorry, i have to disagree with your assessment of snowballs. Had something been added as a counter to them then I'd say 'fine leave em' but considering there's no way to stop them, there's no counter to them to prevent an assassin or a heavy tank from closing the gap then in my opinion they are a map breaker. Yeah it made a portion of the community feel good... at the expense of another portion of the community. Not a good trade off.

I also understand that SR has multiple layers in terms of stratedgy and components, multiple lanes, jungle and so on, but there is something to be said for learning to fight with your team, how and when to use your abilities that with aram you can't really develop consistently. if there were a (PaM) then you could easily make it a way to develop the team skills and provide a path into SR that currently doesn't exist.
