Is league for fun or winning?

Many times I play with people who refuse to have fun unless they win, and those games are the ones where we lose the most. We have had a PSA about Teamwork so I say we need one about having fun. Why can't people have fun anymore? League is a video game, and normal is for people who don't want a very competitive match. So please Rito, enlighten the players please.

League is the opposite of Dwarf Fortress. In League, Winning is Fun.

Losing can be fun too, sometimes; if it's a close game, and you have a chance to pull it back. However, getting totally stomped is not fun for most people. They feel helpless, which is an inherently un-fun experience.

So I suppose my answer is "both."

It's a competitive game. The only thing that's fun is winning.

Winning is fun, but the rest of the game can be fun too if you let it.
CSing can be fun if you are rockin it getting every single minions.
Laning can be fun if you and your opponent are equally matched.
Warding can be fun if you like to watch the enemy sit in a bush not realizing you are watching them (O_O)
Taking Dragon is fun if you like to notice the upgrades it gives.
When you are dead i can be fun to sit back and watch the other lanes fight it out, kinda like a movie.
Hitting someone with a skillshot is fun.
Healing is fun.
Watcing Garen spin is fun, so is watching his passive late game heal you for solid 60's per second.
The list goes on, you just gotta look at things differently.

Ideally: yes.

I tend to think about it like this: normal matches are for fun while ranked are for winning. The problem arises when people want to troll, but do it in ranked instead of normals.
