I thought toxic players in ranked were not aloud to play ranked?

So I quit playing league because of all the toxicity. I mean, I can handle some, but excessive amounts caused me to quit the first time around.

I have been playing normals (draft mostly) for the past few days, getting back into playing League again. Have had great times with a lot of really cool players, nobody toxic, and the ones that are toxic just get a simple mute and problem is solved.

I just got out of a ranked game with 2 of the most toxic players I've ever had the displeasure of playing with. It started in pre-game, and I didn't really mind it just let it go. They were toxic at first, so I simply muted them. When they saw I had muted them, they started feeding, and spam pinging me with "fall back". They refused to stop, continued doing it, and then in after-game REAMED me with everything they could muster while I submitted my reports and left the match.

Don't get me wrong, I love League, and I love where it's headed as a community (with the toxicity clean up) but we have a LONG way to go still.. I honestly thought toxic players weren't aloud to play ranked? What happened?

Well, Ranked matches do have an extra pressure, so it's very common to see players raging, sadly. Besides, this is the Internet, so it's not unusual to have statements being misunderstood. More often than not, I get to compliment someone and that person replies on a defensive way, because he/she/it thought I was being ironic.

What made you think out of the thousands upon thousands of ranked matches played every day that there wouldn't be a single toxic player?

Welcome to the internet. They will always be there, no matter what.

I wouldn't even bother with ranked myself. I kept track on a notepad by my desk, and roughly 50% of the games now are ruined or messed up by feeders, trolls leavers, ragers, toxic players either on one team or the other.

For the amount of time a game consumes, I don't think the fun moments are worth the suffering.
