Toxic Players are STILL here?

So long story short, I queue'd up into a draft game for fun, just as a chill cool down match. Only match of the day, I get instantly chewed out for banning the wrong champions - in the wrong order.

Followed quickly by an extremely toxic early chat for picking Ahri.

Well it all escalated further when we started the match, and the LeBlanc I was facing just destroyed me in lane. He was a good LeBlanc, so I didn't really have an issue with it. Well my Gankplank started complaining about how much I was feeding (3 deaths, 2 of which were tower dives from LeBlanc - which she verbally acknowledged after the game), and then he just started laying into me with as many insults and death threats as he could possibly think of while sitting under his tower.

Instinctively I muted him, and then the Taric Jungle (LOL) chimed in, and started up where Gankplank left off. So I muted him as well, and tried to focus on not dying to LeBlanc.

It finally ended when our Sona and Graves picked up AS WELL - mind you I haven't said but 3 things (Stop, why are you so toxic?, and Ok) so I ended up muting them, and finishing out the game. The AFTER GAME chat was what really got to me. They all started pouring insults onto me, with as much hate as they could muster.

This is a NORMAL MATCH.. It's not RANKED, it's Draft. The LeBlanc and a good chunk of the enemy team were actually appalled at what was being said, and LeBlanc tried to intervene and calm everyone down. Amid this time, I'm trying to fill out the report forms for all of them, and can't help but read out of the corner of my eye, all the stuff they are saying about me.

Look, I had a bad game, I'm sorry I went 1/6 against a LeBlanc who got horribly fed off of roaming and killing everyone. I don't play this game BECAUSE of the community, and now I'm regretting coming back to it.

I thought Riot Lyte fixed this..? The toxicity is literally 10 fold what it was when I quit initially.

Sorry you had a group of douche's bud. Report and move on. The internet will always be filled with passive aggressive children. The one time I lost it in chat I asked where he lived, he was local, and I wolf smiled and said "I'm only 20 minutes away"... he shut up pretty quickly and actually ended up trying to be "friends" .

I live my league life by a code; Respect, Intervene, Report. I respect my fellow team mates, even when they aren't being respectful. Intervene when other players are flaming, and finally Report those that deserve it. Live by the code... don't threaten to beat the life out of kids that live 20 minutes away and you'll be good...

in case you didn't know, people who get restricted from playing Ranked must win a certain number of games in Normal Draft before they can play Ranked again. As a result, Draft has become a Prisoner's Island. if you played a different game mode chances are good the players would be less toxic.

Well, according to the people in charge of punishments, they "turn around" and/or "improve" like 90% of players. Not to say the system doesn't help, but it's hard to believe only 10% of the people I encounter being toxic actually get banned.

If the rampant toxicity of random internet strangers is hindering your enjoyment of the game, then you should do what I do. Play with your friends so you don't have to deal with toxic randoms.
