Season 5 champions for ranked

So I did really bad this season (in terms of ranked) and just played random champions and didn't really care. I want to climb out of bronze in season 5 so I was thinking of maiming Jungle: Xin, Shaco and WW and maybe j4/Diana Support: Leona

If I have to ADC: Jinx Mid: Talon Top: J4/Xin/WW

How does that sound?

I think jungle and support are the least popular roles so that's an excellent start.

You'll probably want to add in at least a second, probably a third support to main. Leona isn't off-meta, what will you do when she's picked/banned. You're best off learning a support that you'd want to play against Leona, e.g. Morgana.

Beyond that, adc is the next least popular role and jinx is very meta. Further, from knowing support you'll know bot Lane - so I'd recommend learning another adc (preferably one you can play against jinx) and have that third option.

Good luck!

Please don't play Shaco. Please. We need fewer shaco players, not more. The world does not need more shaco.(also bear in mind that WW is in line for nerfs, nerfs that could end up being pretty significant)

For me... assuming nothing changes(and I continue playing, which is currently in question):

Top: Karma, Quinn, and if she ends up showing any resurgence Shyv(I like her, but she's been on a slump lately) Jungle: Shen, Diana Mid: Karma, Ahri, and maybe Syndra/Zyra Support: Janna, Zyra, Leona, Nami, and maybe Karma/Sona

If my team desperately needs an adc I'll go Quinn, but I hate ADC in general, so boring.

Edited because I forgot about Nami, shame on me :(

I say this not to be a dick, but I'll be honest with you, and this is actually what I like about League of Legends, but in this game unless you're playing at a very high level perhaps high Diamond +, if you're in a solo queue match you can play anything you like, and if you play it optimally, you will win games. The key thing is learning to play optimally! Your opponents in lower elo do not play optimally, so even if they are playing "ideal" champions, you can still very easily win the game by optimal play on a much less "ideal" champion. I'm by no means an exception to the rule, but just to drive the point home, I hit plat with AP Tristana mid, AD Fizz toplane/Jungle, and Leblanc support. I've seen countless cases of this where people play uncommon things, even in high elo and do perfectly fine and carry games. One particularly funny example was a friend's D4 match that got singlehandedly carried by an AD Jungle Brand. That's not to say you can't do the same thing with meta picks, I just want to emphasize that playing ideally and making smart decisions, itemizing properly etc are all far more important than which champion you "main". Good luck out there summoner! :D

I've seen an Aatrox jungle in teambuilder be an absolute monster... but I mean, it's impossible to tell if he was just mismatched due to teambuilder's wonky mmr or if Aatrox is actually really strong right now. That being said, sustain IS generally strong right now, so Aatrox might be one to give a try. In fact, I might try him.
