Urgot is the new King
Lets be honest, Urgot was completely irrelevant and awful champion. Then they use him in LCS for 1 game and BOOM! Solo Queue is full of no skill, first time Urgot user who think they can clutch every game. It makes me very sad.

Lol yeah i can imagine that. He was never really bad to begin with. People just refused to play him because "fuck that UP, ugly as sin champ"

He's always been good, it was just that he was forgotten and not many could do him well. I've carried many an ARAM with him. I though it ridiculous that so many people tried to give him (or Morde) away in Nemesis as well.
I'll have you know I played Urgot before it was cool. I just select my Battlecast skin, and show them what an Obese Robot Tick can really do.
Before this season started I mained Ezreal, Urgot and Poppy. All three were rage-worthy shit tier useless champions in most peoples eyes.
Now Ezreal is common in LCS, and Urgot and Poppy have seen pro play.
Next up is Riot nerfing them for getting popular. Grump.
Next time someone tells me a champion is UP, Im just going to say "Urgot"

I've been plaxing LoL for almost a year now and I saw (as far as I can remember) Urgot once (!) in a normal game and played him on ARAM when he was free. I agree that he's not an easy champ but he's really not picked as often as you state.. at least on EUW servers.
I like the graphic anyway. :D

FFS! I always played URgot. UGH. Battlecast urgot all day ere day u lil kids and ur "oh he's cool now, lets go play him". Damn drones and ur cattle mentality! I did everything before nay LCS player even thought of it so you're all just copying me.
My friend played urgot alot in ranked, the team rages so hard when he does, with the "he's worthless, he's shitty, why would you play URGOT) then he went 5/0 first 5 minutes, they stopped very quickly, and this was before everyone had a change of heart and started "urgod"...
The only reason he was bad before was him looking hideous, his attack range, and his mana costs. But with nerfs(buffs?) to his mana costs, and a better shield, he is a lot better now. The lowered attack range sucks, but his basic attacks can reduce their movement speed and the damage they deal, so I believe it is a good trade off. He has amazing single target harass and, quite literally, shreds people up top.
I used to play a shit ton of urgot and I was good at him too, one game my team only had five kills and I had 4. With an assist. Most of hte time i play urgot though my teammates try to screw me over and I get a ton of reports. As in: "report this gay ass noob he picked urgot". 
you forgot to mention that urgot recieved a massive buff to his shield scaling.

I remember using Urgot often last season in top.
Every time I picked him in champion select it was always; "Urgot top gg" "WTF??? I'M ADC NOT YOU" "Someone dodge pls" "why troll?" and a bunch of shit around those lines.
Even if I won my lane and the match people would still call me a troll, and when I lost my lane the whole game would often get blamed on me.
Then he gets picked ONCE in the professional scene and now he's getting banned and picked. He's "acceptable" now even though the buff to his W is not even that great (it's weaker in lane phase)
Seriously LoL players flock to LCS picks like flies to shit.

I bought Urgot after going like 11/2 as him in ARAM. I was so happy about the shield buff because it gave me a reason to play him more often. And since my mmr is so low right now from trolls, I carry every game as him.

I am saddened by this as well brother, or sister. I don't like it when people play my obscure champs badly. On the other hand, perhaps his win rate will get even lower.
I literally haven't seen anything like that.
