What does it mean when someone says the "main" a champ?

Kind of a dumb q, but is "maining" a champ basically the champ you play the most, or are the best with, etc

Unfortunately it's not a concrete term. Different people have differing variations of it, so in the end it comes down to what you want to consider it's definition.

For me it's the champion I never tire of and want to improve the most at. I might be better with other champions, but as I play them I'll get burnt out. My main, however, I'll always come back to.

Specifically that champion is Garen for me. I've played him since season 1, through his OP and UP phases, and have no intention to stop playing him anytime soon. It's likely I'd quit League before I quit playing Garen simply because I enjoy playing him. I could get into why I like playing him, but to stay on topic the simple fact that I enjoy playing him no matter how strong or weak he is is what makes him my main.
