So there's two types on reset in this game for ranking.
Hard reset :- Completely ignores your old rankings and makes a fresh start with placements. Soft reset:- Keeps your old rankings and does some changes to your mmr, meaning if you were gold1, there's a high chance of getting silver or gold 5.
I personally wouldn't mind a hard reset as it's been years since they've last done it.

Having former Diamond players in the same game as former Bronze players would be a rather horrible experience for everyone involved.
Stray Kat2 votesI'd prefer a hard reset. I've dealt with soft resets every season so far. I'll end the season mid/high silver, win 7-9 placement games, and get placed in B5 and have to climb right back out. If soft resets didn't do that every year, I'd be fine with them.
