So there's two types on reset in this game for ranking.
Hard reset :- Completely ignores your old rankings and makes a fresh start with placements. Soft reset:- Keeps your old rankings and does some changes to your mmr, meaning if you were gold1, there's a high chance of getting silver or gold 5.
I personally wouldn't mind a hard reset as it's been years since they've last done it.
I would prefer a soft reset.
Having former Diamond players in the same game as former Bronze players would be a rather horrible experience for everyone involved.
Below gold, it should be a hard reset.
Gold and above, it should be a soft reset.
I'd prefer a hard reset. I've dealt with soft resets every season so far. I'll end the season mid/high silver, win 7-9 placement games, and get placed in B5 and have to climb right back out. If soft resets didn't do that every year, I'd be fine with them.
Hard reset would mean you could literally play against Dyrus, or Imaqtpie, or any other player like that. That would just be completely unfair to low elo players.
I would like hard reset, maybe I will enjoy ranked again. For the past 4 years I only play for gold 5 cause of the free skin, so climbing from the start might be enjoyable. http://www.auplod.com/u/poldua8017b.png
