How does it feel when a champion you love gets reworked?

So I wanted to know you guys and gals experiences and feelings when a champion you enjoy playing gets fully reworked,I've played for 2 and a half years now and I never had a champion I loved get reworked in any way , I HATED the old poppy and didn't care much for sion I do However genuinely like taric and part of me is in constant fear as his rework grows closer by the day and I fear what I like about him will be gone forever Please let me know about your past experiences regarding full reworks below

Well... I know I'm nowhere near as experienced as most other players, but I honestly preferred old Poppy AND Shen. Poppy went from being one of the few viable AP tank/bruisers, to being another generic AD tank that couldn't burst someone with 2 pieces of armor down if they were afk with baron attacking them, and still cant match her old tankiness, even if building armor.. As for shen... I just miss the lifesteal. I am slightly worried about the upcoming reworks, simply because I am thoroughly unimpressed and frankly disappointed in the past two champion releases, and I have a feeling that will continue.
