Why are skin borders more expensive than damn ultimate skins?

In project wave 1 all you need to do was buy the skin at full price to get them (the good old days of skins being discounted on release)

Then later you could craft them via hextech (with no actual events) it was freely given to you wave 2 of project gave you 1 and wave 3 gave you all 3.....FOR FREE

Later (like last damn year...) we could buy borders individually in border bundles or the full bundles with everything, we had choice at least

How did we get here where the only option is paying ludicrous amounts of money for it? like its not even called the all in 1 bundle, these are specifically addressed as the one and only border bundle with no other options if you want them.....what happened to riot

Because it also has all the chromas in it, which brings us to the question of why the hell is there so many chromas on skins now.

Before it was 5-6 chromas, now we're reaching 8 chromas.

I also like to add that some border bundles charge some rp extra for that thing... like... a skin+icon+border sometimes costs more than a skin of that price+ one icon would cost individually. Really scummy...

It's fucking stupid, the least they could do is make a separate Skin+Icon+Border bundle, especially if you don't care about the chromas for that skin at all. It's greedy af, and they know it.

Hey! Borders are serious business! They let everyone know that you aren't messing around during those crucial few minutes when everyone's taking advantage of the chance to go to the bathroom, put their kid to bed, or get more coffee.

Because it's skin+Border+All chromas+Icon, not just a border.

Icon is 250, skin is 1350, chromas are 290 a piece (total 2320). Cost is 3,920 before the border.

I remember buying the "Master Elementalist Lux bundle" back in 2016...for 3950 RP. An Ultimate skin (3250 RP) bundle, with everything in it. The skin itself, border, 11 icons and ward skin.

For 3950 RP now I can get an Epic skin (1350 RP), with a border, an icon, some Chromas and a ward skin.

How the times have changed...

I completely agree the pricing of skins in general have gone WAY up you are talking 25 bucks for a new skin now days. To top it off why would i spend that kind of money for a skin that really isn't special.

On a side note the game is in such a miserable state that i find it really hard to support this game with my money like i have all these years since season 1. Like champions like pyke being ignored and played in solo lanes and able to generate more gold then a carry because of his ultimate and he is unpunishable by anyone with a brain. I just can't bring my self to buy anything riot puts out right now especially at those prices.

Because League of Legends is a free to play, and they need to make money where they can. If someone wants a premium border then they gotta pay money for it, and obviously people are willing to pay that much, so they don't lower the price.

It would be greedy of Riot to sell borders if they made your champion stronger, but they don't they are just nice cosmetics thats you don't need. So you don't have to buy them if you don't want to.

Consumers are the reason prices are what they are because they are willing to buy it. If you want it to change then just don't buy it and hope that others don't as well then they can lower the price and get your border that is shown for 5 seconds.

Funniest thing is that this Ahri bundle costed me 4200 rp Didn't have enough RP so I bought everything seperately until I got enough RP and bought the rest of the bundle
