Revisiting the idea of kicking; ranked

Remember the last time when you were in soloq in ranked. Now try to pinpoint a specific match where someone did not follow the pick roll, or trolls on purpose.

There has been several occasions where I can pin point people who troll in pre-lobby. These people come in different varieties, and unforuntatly, the only viable option is to dodge. Losing 3 points, and increasing onwards. People dodge for different reasons; trolling, toxics, and not following pick order (especially this one!) I think there should be a kick option similar to a surrender vote.

If you don't know, the surrender vote requires 4/5 votes (80%) votes to be kicked. There could be a small popup in pre-lobby if a particular player who is not following pick order, or obvious trolling, to kick him or not. If that person is kicked, everyone is sent back in que for another match with the same players (not the person who got kicked). I'm sure this will fix the problem with some trolling, especially in pre-lobby. So many times I had to deal with double mids, double tops, triple mids, double jung, no adc, just because someone didn't get their roll and wanted to troll. (This happens 60-70% of the time in bronze-silver)

"BUT U DONT HAVE TO FOLLOW META" Fine, you don't have to follow it, but there is a fine line between picking teemo jung and 4 other player trying to win the game. The new season is almost here, and this addition along with the new tribunal will make ranked atmosphere a better place. Already I'm starting to notice better behavior from other people (even myself) in-game, but when it comes to pre-lobby, it's like 3 people fighting and yelling toxicity each other for mid lane.

  • "I CALLED MID FIRST"

  • "NOPE I DID"

  • "STFU DOUBLE MID GG"

We can easily remove this. Unfortunately we can't implement this in normals, because kicking will be in more of the hands of premades themselves (unless Riot decides to only let solo people kick) which is not a bad option either. Right now, I want all of you to go to a normal match; in a pre-game lobby. I will bet you someone will auto lock and not even care, while someone else has called their lane first. Or watch when someone argues with verbal toxicity because someone called their role legit. We can get rid of that, especially in ranked. Here is what it could look like:

Now when you do click on it, a small report option will come up. (similar to the one at post-game), however, instead if it being unlimited characters, it will only have a max of 50 characters. No one wants to read an essay of why you would want to kick him. Things like:

  • Trolling; Teemo jungle.
  • Double mid when I called mid first.
  • Decided not to go adc.
  • Picked sion adc.

When you hit the enter, or submit buttom in this case, an alert will come up similar to the surrender option in the options to other players ON YOUR TEAM:

Notice, it still requites 4 people. I think this is reasonable if everyone single person wants you kicked, then you need to be kicked. After the individual is kicked, you and your team are sent back in the waiting time for another match, notice you will be with the same players as you were in LAST GAME, unless you force cancel it and come back in it. This will derail some of the chances of getting another troll on another team.

Edit: Guys, remember it's a 4-1 probability, so picking something like Sion jungle and you know how to play, you won't be kicked. Picking someone like ashe jungle WILL get you kicked, or trolling, or toxicity.

Edit: Important Point; "...to kick in the hault of 20 seconds. In other words, when you go in-lobby no one is able to pick champions, but as intact they can call their roles. Anyone toxic about it will be kicked in the time lapse of 20 seconds, if no one is kicked, the regular 90 seconds continue with the kick option being turned off."

Reason for kicking: The other team has a way better team comp than us.

I have never liked this idea. Duo queues would never get kicked no matter how hard they troll because they can stop the kick vote together. Nobody is going to care who they are kicking as long as it isn't themself.

This system would get abused so much and so easily it is just silly.

I'd say only if it happened before the first champ was selected. Its not fair to be able to kick someone just because you don't like their champ choice. Clearly you want to be able to kick that guy who 5th picked mid after it was already chosen, but there are to many ways to abuse the system i think.

I'd be up for trying it tho, for sure. I'm sure there is a way to figure this out and make it viable.

Kicking should not be an option. End of story.

Nope, this enables unintentional and intentional toxic behavior by removing the ability to play.

Its great that you claim you wouldn't abuse it but many would.

I support allowing to kick in the hault of 20 seconds. In other words, when you go in-lobby no one is able to pick champions, but as intact they can call their roles. Anyone toxic about it will be kicked in the time lapse of 20 seconds, if no one is kicked, the regular 90 seconds continue with the kick option being turned off. Just trying to help the toxicity problem. );

If this got implemented, I would never be able to play Poppy support/jungle again.

And I'm almost gold 3 with that shit.

Every week someone suggest this, and every week it's the same deal. Vote kick is a dumb idea that will be undubitably abused if ever implemented, that's all there is to it.

If you allow vote to kick, all of the following kick scenarios are possible given League's community:

-didn't ban a champ I don't like? Vote to kick. -didn't pick Morgana when she was open? Kick. -picked lulu top? Noob we need a tank. Kick. -Karthus taking revive teleport? Revive=much noob. Kick -oh, that guy who called mid has a bad lolKing history. Kick.

That last one is by far the worst since it means that people who are doing poorly could potentially find it nearly impossible to get a match. Never doubt the League community's ability to abuse the living crap out of any trolling mechanism they find.

Systems like this also have an extreme chilling effect on the meta. Remember back in Season 3 preseason when it was Fiddle/Annie/Morg support for a while? That meta would never have been able to emerge with a vote-kick system. Proxy Singed/AP Trynd top we're not the healthiest things ever, but they were alternative strategies that could never have happened if vote-kick was a thing. This season's Alistar/Maokai top could never have happened with vote-kick.

Adding vote-kick locks the game into its current meta, with any change being glacial at best because any attempt to change the meta results in a kick. Unless you have a viable solution for this, there can never be a vote-kick in League of Legends.
